I lost my Daddy this past Saturday, 4/6/2019. I have been asked to sing at his funeral. I thought of this song. He loved the original version of this song and sang it around the house often when I was a child. I stumbled across this version of "Until Then" and it is so beautiful. I was moved to tears and have replayed it so many times. My soul rejoices to know that this world is not our final home. Eternal life awaits us and we will all see one another again!

This was the last song my mother played for me to sing at church before she passed away. My mother, Katie Stewart Sowell, was the pianist for many gospel groups, including the Stamps Quartet, and pianist for my Grandfather's Masonite Quartet from Laurel MS and many singing conventions. She was raised by J.B Coats (wrote "Where Could I Go But To the Lord.") who taught her to play the piano at 5 yrs of age and won a scholarship to Julliard but my grandfather would not let her go. We still have the accordion that J.B. Coats gave her and taught her to play.

It was written by Stuart Hamblen in the late 1950s....it is beautiful...and you should have heard Vestal sing it live in the 60s...she could bring a house down...this song is actually what got the Gaithers Homecoming specials going...Vestal was praying about and for Dottie Rambo...I mean a bring you to your knees...come to Jesus prayer, then started singing this...then Glen Payne joined her playing the piano and singing...then all the people there started singing...it was wonderful....I was there recording and was happy to see it come about...very emotional
