Jason and Benjamin Todd are 2 of my favorite musicians and the funny thing is that their genre of music has never really been something I enjoyed but those 2 artists have such real and raw talent. Phenomenal song writers and singers.

I've had lots of old songs somehow surface up on my KZbin lately at exactly the time I needed them to. This is a new song, but I definitely needed this one as well. Not sure what a good comment would be. I'm leaving this one just hoping that it helps reach more people. Good song- thank you for uploading.

Been cursed and blessed to ramble for years myself and don't see any end in sight. It's been pretty great discovering JDW and his other bands and having some modern ramblin tunes to go with the old folk songs. If he ever does a show wherever I happen to be, I'll have to go check it out.

Great song writing Jason and picking. Emphasis on the song writing. Just incredible, poignant, lonesome, continuity. Coupled with the charming melody the song pushes you to emphasize with a wanderer. Just found you, you're going to blow up not a single doubt in my mind.

We Had To Try - Jason Dea West Old lost highway, you call my name. Not afraid of the snow and rain, staying here I just can't breathe. Old lost highway, you call my name. I've been on this rambling spree, I don't own no land, no land owns me. The trainyard's cold, but the ride is free. And when I'm gone, honey let me be. I've got lovers near and far, and I won't tell you who they are. Tomorrow morning we're going to Maine few more days, I'm back on that train. The southwest came for everyone, you can burn to death in the desert sun. The snow is falling up in Vermont, kiss me again before I'm gone. Cuz when I'm gone, I'm long gone, long gone. I'm bound to face this world alone, I miss your smile and your mountain home. Sit me down in your sky-high throne, tell me not to go back on my own. The snow is falling right outside, you're baking Jean some apple pie. Soon it'll be time to to say "goodbye" We both know we had to try. It's back to the land of the sun, stay at home and clean your guns. Soon I will be gone again, kiss me one more time, my friend. Well, west top's called my name, supposed to leave but I wanna stay. Leaving here I just can't breathe, seems the joy out weighed the pain. What seems a joy outweighed the pain.

I mean... most music is performative. Punks take showers. Most "gangsta" rappers have never shot a gun, killed a cop, or joined a gang. Heavy metal musicians aren't actually serial killers. Bob Dylan sold out to Sony records for $200 million. And so on and so fourth. Don't be a hypocrite.
