Terell Davis. Marshall Faulk. Barry Sanders. There are too many to list that were more “dominant” than Emmit. Emmit was rarely the best RB in the NFL at any one time. However, what made him special was his longevity and consistency.

Yes, Texas Stadium turf was described as being little more than carpet laid atop of concrete. It was a very dangerous surface, in fact, I think there were a few NFL careers that were ended or shortened because of it.

No complaints to the media nobody in the announcers booth questioning the coaches decision. This is the most significant moment in Garrett's years as a player. He wasn't a bad play caller either but apparently he couldn't handle multitasking Head Coaching and play calling. Demoting Garret back to play caller might've worked too but I'm happy with new Head Coach Mike McCarthy. I think he'll get it done!

Sterling Sharpe's injury could have set this franchise back on offense for a few years. On the other hand, it taught Favre to spread the ball around more. As crazy as it sounds, losing Sharpe was not as bad for Favre as it could have been.

Sterling Sharpe to Favre should’ve been what Davante Adams was to Aaron Rodgers, BUT, @TheBrett04 brings up a very good point; without Sharpe, Favre had to spread the ball, and that actually made the passing game harder to defend against! Favre’s MVP seasons from 1995-97 NEVER featured a WR of Sharpe’s caliber, instead it was the combined efforts of Robert Brooks, Antonio Freeman, and other WRs those 3 years coming through for Favre in making good plays consistently, and passing defenses had such a tough time defending it! Brooks I think had he not gotten hurt in 1996 could’ve had a top-5 WR campaign, but Freeman, Beebe, Rison (after the trade), & the TEs Keith Jackson & Mark Chmura all were very effective for Favre that year, and really throughout Favre’s career he needed that out of his teammates!

Garret, a backup threw for 300+ yards on 26 attempts. Yes, his first quarter was pretty crappy, but so was Brady's first half against the falcons.

@@h.a.l.3980 Emmitt rushed for 133 yards and 2 TDs, with a long run of 30 yards, and had an additional 98 yards through the air with a 68 yard catch and run. That's a beast of a game for a running back, and certainly deserves more credit for the win than Garrett. Garrett was only 15 for 26 and had a 2 to 1 TD/INT ratio. He missed on almost half his throws, and like I said earlier, one of his TDs was on a busted coverage and the receiver was as wide open as it gets. That skews the stats a bit. Garrett did make one good pass which went for a TD, but overall Emmitt's day was much more impressive.

It's MUCH more impressive when your under-sized, undrafted, 3rd string QB (both Aikman and Peete were hurt) on a short prep week because of Thanksgiving comes off the bench and leads your offense to 42 points against Brett Favre and Sterling Sharpe while he had Reggie White breathing down his fucking neck half the game. Garrett's game shouldn't be minimized because he handed the ball off and threw short passes to their main weapon on offense. DUH! What did you expect him to do?
