I was at this game and man it was a once and a lifetime experience. If Luka’s teammates could make wide open layups he would’ve had a 73 point triple double. Bonus experience for me and my brother, at halftime Kyle Korver and his kids came over and sat in the empty seats next to us.

@qatarworldcupwinnermessi
@qatarworldcupwinnermessi 4 ай бұрын
@@Lyrunfromda214 I don't see a separation. Embiid is up there with the best and arguably is the best offensive player in the game. Just goes about it differently. He averages 12 free throw attempts per game and us averaging over 10 points per game on free throws alone. Most fouled player in the league. He can also shoot from distance at over 7 feet tall. And he can get rebounds on the offensive end and extend possessions. This is a great player, he attracts the most double teams. Only issue with Embiid is for whatever reason, he never gives the same effort in the playoffs. He plays well below his standards when it matters most. He really should have a championship like Joker and Giannis do if he would play in the playoffs how he should.
@remmborn8154
@remmborn8154 4 ай бұрын
@@qatarworldcupwinnermessiYour arguing Embiid as the best scorer not the best offensive player LMFAO The reason Luka and Jokic are better as overall offensive players is cause they gap everyone else in playmaking aswell. Also what you said about Embiid being the most doubled player was objectively incorrect as it has been public knowledge for the last 2 months now with a statistic that has been consistently updated that Luka is by far the most doubled player, more than twice the second most (which isnt embiid either)

Embiid scored 70 on 59% with Maxey and tobias Harris on the threat if double teams came. Also did it again spurs. Book had Kd and Beal next to him when he scored 62, need not say more. Luka had no irving, was alone facing double teams from everywhere. Almost every shot was a tough shot, and this man manages to make 73 pts on 76% shooting... (and no, he didn't have over 20 ft, but yes almost 10 3pm) He his, because of what he does so effortlessly that nobody in this league can do, the undeniable mvp. On top of that, he creates a lot of game for the rest of the team, rebounded and dived on the floor for loose balls. Just MVP stuff
@qatarworldcupwinnermessi

Not true, the Hawks did not double team Luka until he put up 65. I watched the whole game. Hawks defending was suspect, but Doncic played phenomenal. Both Doncic and Embiid are fantastic players, you don't have to minimize one to try to hype up the other. 70 points is fantastic at any level, but to score 70 in NBA, very few can say they have done it.
@PedroJr17
@PedroJr17 4 ай бұрын
@@qatarworldcupwinnermessi yes they doubled, they just intensified the double (and triple) in the end. I didn't minimize Embiid at all, for me he's one of the best in the league, definitely top 3, however, because of the team he has around him I think for a fact that is easier to get a 70pt game than with the cast luka has around him. Just that.
@qatarworldcupwinnermessi

@@PedroJr17 They did not double. Lazy defending. Like I said, I watched the whole game and even Wilkins, who called the game with Rathburn, was wondering why the Hawks were not doubling Luka. It was not until he scored 65 that they started to double and put a full court press on him, which is what they should have done way earlier in the game. There is absolutely no way you can call what the Hawks did acceptable defending. I live in Atlanta and watch every Hawk game. The Hawks are very poor in defending and it's getting worse.

@@PedroJr17 You don't know what you're watching. If you call late rotations on defense and lost players not knowing who to defend quality defense, you don't know basketball. It was very lazy defending from the Hawks. One of the worst I have seen and I have been watching Hawks basketball since 1989 when we played in the omni. Literally one play, Bogdanovic when to double Luka, backed off, then he was not guarding anyone. Lost at what to do. This is not proper basketball.

I just said it. Today the ones mention that there was defense in the nineties are called nostalgic boomers, but I bet if Luka will surpass James on the all time scoring list the actual LBJ fans will understand what we were talking about. It's a trend. Slowly we are at 150-150 points games, 10-15 players will average 30+, 35+ points with ridiculous effectiveness, a lot will be around tripledoble averages, and soon all individual and all time records will be broken. But I think in the near future Silver will understand that this is not basketball anymore, rather some kind of circus, they loose a lot of attention, and in season torunaments will not help in general, so they'll bring back real defense with rule changes again.

The record books show Dončić hunting Chamberlain, not Jordan. Look it up. Soft yes, but how come Mike has probably the longest mixtape of phantom fouls (mostly from the 90's first expansion period)? Shit puts foul calls on Kobe from Kings-Lakers game 6 to shame. What's even more shameful is that the average fan back then adored those calls on MJ, only to be trashing Lebron for flopping 20 years later. Keep in mind that's the same generation that fucked the western society to the point of no return. Hereby I say thanks to those born in the 60's and 70's, great job, you could not have done worse. Idiot, Luka is constantly besting Mike's top performances WITHOUT overtimes with an average of 10 FTA less and 8 FGA less, while being forced to create after being double teamed at half court and he isn't the most explosive player in the league like Michael was to take advantage of being double teamed that high up court. Which means from the logo Luka can't outrace two defenders and create 5-3 miss match from nothing like MJ, but instead he is forced to step backs from there and drains it on the regular from the spots Mike acted to be able to shoot from in that famous McDonalds commercial of his back in the day. MJ today would force his shit to 80 no doubt, Luka cruising. MJ better defender thou no doubt as is Luka a better passer.

NO DEFNESE ON HIM. In the 80s and 90s. Luka would have been hacked, punched, clothlined, kicked, tackled, pile drived to floor. You cant shoot with a broken arm or leg. He would have 10 points

Media: “Congrats on the win “coach”. 😒 What was the gameplan tonight that made the team win? J.Kidd: “Luka” he is the game plan. I’m just here to answer your questions, I don’t need to coach ‘em. I just watch just like you guys. Nice answer coming from someone who is being paid to COACH not to WATCH! 🥲💙
