What a breathe of fresh air - a comedian who is brave enough to talk about mental health issues as part of his performance - well done sir!
@NewSonicLight Жыл бұрын
@SwallowsCourt - As someone aged 68 who has struggled with such issues most of my adult life to the point of a few tailed suicide attempts and ideation, I can relate. The "final thought" about comparison hits home for I've never had a long term girlfriend, wife or kids or middle or muddle class life due such a road -- and so it's so easy to make one less-than. Hell, I even did while watching the show. As someone once put it, every life is a hero/ine's journey in its own way, however rough or different the journey. Last, as others have mentioned here, it's nice to see someone who proves the seeming rarity that one can be funny and decent at the same time. No need for cruelty or ridicule or machine-gun delivery of 4-letter words every few minutes (for occasional emphasis or accent works just fine). Perhaps this preference is tied to a over-sensitivity of my journey, but one doesn't have to have mental health issues to appreciate phunny and decency. :)

@the I.T. Guy Being tired, worry and too many things going on can cause brain fog, forgetfulness, the more you worry the worse you feel. Lots of conditions can cause these symptoms, write down all the things you feel are different, then speak to your GP honestly. You may be having 8 hrs sleep a night but if that sleep is not nourishing you it can cause mind and speech problems.

A couple of weeks ago I got to see Jimmy Carr live in Sofia and I was absolutely destroyed from laughing, my face was stuck in a painful laugh position for the rest of the evening, my ribs were hurting for 3 days. I just watched your show here, Jason, and I got almost an hour of the best laughter I've had and even though it is a completely different experience, I loved it the same because I could relate to 70-80% of the things you talk about and the laughter I got from you is priceless! Thank you ! :) I hope to see you live some day too !

Thank you for everything Jason Manford! I'm so glad I found your stand up as I'd exhausted my supply of decent comedians. I'm extremely particular about who I watch with stand up as there's nothing worse than sitting down to watch some "comedy" and not even breaking into a smile. With my physical disability and mental disorders, I find it hard to smile at times, let alone laugh so, the fact I actually laugh out loud at your comedy really says something. Thank you once again mate! Now to save up for the rest of your DVDs.
