The reason he's my fav artist is that in my opinion, this is the realest form of music. Natural af. Simple but meaningful. He speaks about love unlike any other musicians. Some artist talks about one side of love and it's romance, but jason talks about every other side of the word love.

I agree that there is always a choice to love or to hate. I disagree that 90% of bad things are just in our imaginations. I don't have to look far to find bad things happening to good people. For me, telling someone who has just lost everything in a natural disaster or has just been told they have a life threatening disease that this bad thing is just their imagination is a form of gas lighting. There has to be time to face the bad, look it straight in the eye and then, with the support of good friends and family, choose the positive way through the experience before us. Even Jason said "Everyone gets mad sometimes and maybe they should" For me, the best way is to face all that life sends us - the good, the bad, the indifferent - and to work through it for the lessons it brings.

I really needed to listen to this song today. It actually made me cry. I have a 5 y.o. boy who lives with his dad (out of state) and I'm currently pregnant with fraternal twin boys. I went to an MFM appointment yesterday and got to see the twins up-close on ultrasound with my mom. It's been bittersweet and I vividly remember feeling mad at myself and guilty during the screening for bringing more children into this world, at a time like this. I often overlook all the good and get caught up in everything that is so wrong, both in the world and in myself. This song really brought things back into perspective.
