Well he was a criminal in life, even if he wasn’t that GOOD at it. And also he’s from Florida which is bad place worthy on its own. But despite his failings, he is still a decent person, and that’s part of the point of the show is that with better influences on his life he very quickly and easily becomes a much better person. Of the original four, he is definitely the purest and kindest.

Michael didn't knew if Eleanor killed Janet or not so when he asked that to Eleanor he wouldn't know what to color the cube. After Eleanor confessed that the problem in the neighborhood was her and Jason married Janet his plan went kind of downhill and majority of the things happening weren't in his control.

@@jentc1486 I said top 5 because it’s so hard to put an actual number on them. I just binged The Good Place and could say it may be number one. It is short sweet and easy to watch. Off the top of my head, the shows that could be in my top 10 and some other shows I have enjoyed. They are all very different from each other but also different from The Good Place. In no particular order. Hopefully there is something there to help you out. Lost The Man in the High Castle (what if WW2 went different with some very cool IMO sci fi stuff) The Boys (still in production for one more season) Invincible (cartoon) Midnight Mass (monologs lol) Breaking Bad The Expanse (space/sci-fi) Gilmore Girls Shameless (haven’t seen the newest seasons) The Haunting of Hill House The OA (canceled after second season, damn you Netflix could of been #1) Friends Vampire Diary’s (kind of goes off the rails the last few seasons)
