For someone who demands loyalty Sonny sure as hell is having a difficult time returning it right now. His lack of faith in his best friend is baffling. This is why Carly has always been the better friend. Nothing can shake her faith and trust him. You could show her a picture of Jason cutting Michael's head off and she would still question it. Why can't Sonny do the same? He owes Jason many times over and Jason never complains.

That’s how I know Carly and Jason aren’t saints as a lot of fans seem to think they are. They are just as bad as sonny. All three are criminals.

Yep, it is not like Jason had a choice not to be an informant; if he had chosen not to be such, the FBI would have brought RICO charges on Jason, Sonny, and everyone else attached. So sure, Sonny may see this as a betrayal, but Jason can easily feed the FBI false information to protect Sonny and company. Yet Sonny had already seen Jason as a traitor before this meeting. So, even spilling the beans would not have amounted to anything; it might have moved the needle slightly, but it was not enough to convince Sonny that Jason was on the level. It seems Ava is feeding Sonny lies to get him to make a mistake and to push his loyal people away from him to the point that he has nothing and nobody left to stand with him out of paranoia. He made his pride, his worst enemy, to be taken down by those supposedly in his corner but for the benefit of his enemies.
