In his reaction to the Houston Rockets falling to the Golden State Warriors in Game 7 of the 2018 NBA Western Conference Finals, Jason Terry explains to Skip Bayless, Shannon Sharpe and Joy Taylor why the Rockets missing 27 straight 3's and James Harden going 2 for 13 from three despite scoring 32 points is to blame for the Rockets' Game 7 loss. Do you agree with Jason?

Cesar Leija they always allow more physical play the deeper you go in the playoffs. A player that lives for calls isnt gonna get them in the post season as often as he would in the regular season. I try to tell people this! If you want to shoot a bunch of threes you better have ray Allen, Reggie Miller, Glen Rice, Mitch Richmond, John Paxon etc I don’t understand why DAntoni doesn’t understand this. If they want to shoot all of these threes then you need to atleast get a JJ Reddick or somebody that can hit threes consistently. You need guys that compete in and win three point contest. Klay, Steph and Durant are SHOOTERS! You will not outshoot them. SMH

D'Antoni is a brilliant basketball mind, arguably the best offensive genius in basketball history. He transformed the league in 2004 on assist-heavy PnRs with Steve Nash. Since then, every team played with pace & space and heavily emphasized on three pointers. Miami was the first to popularize it, then the Spurs adapted to it, and now the Warriors built a dynasty on it. Now nearly 15 seasons later, he swung 180 degrees to favorable iso-heavy switch offense with James Harden & Chris Paul. Frankly, he made a relatively healthy Warriors team vulnerable for the first time in 4 seasons (and no, that 2016 Cavs was never a threat to a healthy Warriors team). All of that said, D'Antoni is just too stubborn and too extreme with his coaching style. His isolation plays worked brilliantly to win 65 games, but it does not mean you simply double the amount of isolation plays in Game 1. Without Chris Paul, he resorted to creating volatility with as many threes as possible, and it worked brilliantly in the first half of both game 6 and 7. But three pointers in a high octane up & down is unsustainable. Once you have a double digit +17 (game 6) and +15 (game 7), you have to change your strategy at half time to emphasize on holding the lead rather than continue the volatility. I feel bad for D'Antoni because I really do think he's one of the most brilliant people in the history of basketball and should be undoubtedly a first ballot hall of famer. But he will never be appreciated as such due to his lack of postseason success.

Everybody forgot that Mike D'Antoni never won BECAUSE of that system. Remember Steve Nash and the Suns. Just replace Gordon by Barbosa, Capela by Stoudamire and Gordon by I don't know who. Then you have Ariza as Bell. They never won anything because that kind of basketball never wins championship. NEVER. AND Popovich will always be there to remind you that he even allow Duncan to crucify the Suns with a 3pt during the playoffs. Defense wins championship. Dennis Rodman always told you that but you never listen. D'Antoni is a regular season coach. But remember what Larry Bird said when it's time for the Playoffs. That's right. You got it now.

This what happens when they lose cp3... whenever they were jacking up shots cp3 reels the team back together and have them do what works. It’s too easy to guard a team that just shoots 3’s all game. Although I give d’antoni for creating a great team in the rockets that got them this far I think he did a really bad job at coaching the 2nd half of this game. You saw success driving to the rim and either getting layups or then kicking out for open threes instead of guys creating them off the dribble. But what do you do? Shoot bad 3’s! This is totally on the coach because he’s either telling them that jacking up bad 3’s is the answer or the guys don’t trust the coaches judgement when it’s game 7 of the WCF against champions. Whether it’s a bad coaching call or the guys not trusting him this makes him look really bad.

Man you dont even have to be a houston fan to see how bad the reffing was. The refs clearly turned a blind eye to the illegal screens happening right in front of them. The fouls on Harden's 3s were'nt call. There were offensive fouls, reach ins that werent called and the same were called for the warriors on the other end. That's just ridiculous. Agreed that they shot bricks from 3, butwhat were they supposed to do, they werent getting foul calls when they drove to the paint, i saw gordon drive to the paint and that guy was sandwiched by two guys and no call!! Are you kidding me. If they called fouls, Klay, bell, looney and other toons wouldve been on the bench for the most of the time. That what happens when you're in foul trouble. They are definitely sweeping the cavs but i hope they wont need the refs to help them in that as well

despite the refs despite some missed calls they still lost by only 9 and the main point here is they missed 27 threes in a row. idc how rigged you think the refs are bro yall just missed 27 threes in a ROW. if they wanted it bad enough they would have adjusted if harden wanted it bad enough he would have said f the game plan and took over. long story short yall missed 27 threes in a ROW

Cadavius Casey I agree with the 0 for 27 3's but if Harden got that 3 point play, plus the and 1,and then got the foul from the other 3 they didn't call, game would have been closer, not saying they would have won but game could have been closer. Rockets and refs gave Golden State that game.

Cadavius Casey Yea,it was sad and hard to watch. I've been watching Rockets since a kid,38 now and been on the fence bout the NBA being so called "rigged" or "scripted" but yesterday was jus way too obvious. Missing shots is one thing but those refs were outta there mind on the no calls. Corner 3 by Steph and Bells shoves Harden hard so he can't contest, obvious offensive foul on Bell as well. Same with Celtics and Cleveland in game 7,these pros launching 3 like no tomorrow. Maybe I'm crazy I'll admit but both series game 7's were suspect. NBA wants a re-run 4th year in a row. Sorry bout the long reply lol

And I'll say this today,5-30-18... This Finals will b for LeBron to save his Legacy so he can say he took a bad team to Finals and Won,or it will be for Golden State to win, which will allow LBJ to make his move to a team of Stars, Philly, LA,maybe Houston, and b on a super team and take out Golden State that way. Just my opinion ✌️

they were bad in the first half too. Harden got fouled on consecutive 3 pointers but the refs didn’t call it. had those called actually been made, Rockets would’ve been up by possibly 17 at half time.

Take A Walk With Me when a team they don’t hate is experiencing no calls it’s playoff basketball, when it’s the other way it’s rigged. There were bad calls and whistle swallowing throughout this entire playoffs on both sides. Numerous games where Curry cannot buy a single call, but curry is soft if we complain about that. The irony. Nba had no reason to force a warriors win, especially with lebron in the finals, he’s enough of a face and had enough of a storyline to carry the finals viewership. The only people who wouldn’t watch a rockets Cavs finals are probably fans of the conference finals teams who lost. People should get a grip and clue.

Only problem calling multiple timeouts to take the other team out of rhythm is you also ended up taking your own team out of rhythm as well. Both teams have to stop in a timeout. Ask any pure shooter. You don't get yourself out of a cold slump by standing on the sideline with a lot of time to think about all those open shots you missed. Usually, you get out of that cold spell by getting shots closer to the basket to see the ball going in and rebuild your confidence.

Rockets need to find a good backup for CP3. They need a point guard who can handle the rock when CP3 is either on the bench or hurt because they got exposed this series. If Harden has to handle the rock, distribute and score he seems to get worn down faster. That's what happened last night and last year. Could be his conditioning to blame as well but... that's another story all together. Rocket's GM should've known better tho... CP3 stays hurt... Always have, always will!!!

The rockets couldn’t keep that type of game up that they did in the first half!! They don't have the stamina that golden state has. That’s one thing to talk about because they looked tired in the middle of the 3rd quarter. That’s when golden state started to get better looks at the basket because the rockets couldn’t keep up and it was over from there.

They making shots at the first half so they thought it would be the same in the 2nd so they really are forcing their 3s to go in. I think they just wanted to end the streak but it came up shooting bricks all the way until pj tucker hits the corner 3 with 5 mins left on the last quarter. And also they lost their momentum because of the 9 missed calls by the ref which may lead to 15-18 more free throw attempts

Rockets panicked and tried to take the easy way out by chugging 3 point shots. They got nervous and stopped trying to make plays because the Warriors was very tough on defense. When they started missing, the problem just got worse as they lost even more confidence. It was a team meltdown. Poor leadership on the floor from Harden. The role players choked. Cp3 would have helped, but it wouldn't have made a difference when Curry/Klay/KD all got hot at the same time.

Houston could not beat the Warriors shooting 3’s. D’antoni deserves the blame for the Rockets losing but no one mentions his name. Harden has proven that he can distribute the ball, rebound, and score. Harden doesn’t have to rely on strictly shooting jumpers. D’antoni, in CP3’s absence, relegated Harden to being a 1 on 1 scorer. He also shortened the rotation and everyone was fatigued that’s why their jumpers weren’t falling. Without the toughness and attitude of CP3 the Rockets didn’t have a chance of winning.

It is simple, no other team (maybe except for celtics and sixers) could keep up with the warriors high octane offense the reason why most teams, like rockets, were just contented in jacking up threes because they are all exhausted. Stamina, conditioning, good use of player substitution and steph/klay' constant movement is the real secret to gsw success... gsw consistently plays from start to finish because their players are either rested well or just have stronger stamina compared to harden, leflop, cries paul, davis...
