Im a firefighter in europe my english isnt really good but try to understand me. Ive been a fireman for almost 7 years now and i was in two calls where people smelled smoke but couldnt locate the rire. As we came into the flat we smelled the fire but also couldnt locate the source. The smell was especially strong in the balcony. The balcony didnt have much stuff just a couple of chairs and a dead plant. Eventually one of my coleagues noticed smoke coming out of the plant pot. As we investigeted the pot was HOT AF and the soild itself was burning. As it turns out people use the kind of soil that actually burns. Sometimes during a dry summer a field might catch on fire if it has that soil. You dont see a flame, its just smoke everywhere and the ground is really hot. Its a huge pain in the ass putting out this sort of fire(smoldering not an actual fire) sometimes it takes weeks. Vos keeps mentioning the dead plant and it raises a red flag to me instantly. People smoke upstairs, drop the buds, wind blows it into Riches balcony and the pot catches on fire. The pot melts or cracs from head and burning soild goes everywhere and the next thing you hot a building on fire..

Very interesting! I’ll do more research into this! Your English is excellent. Even your words and grammar were great. Peat is that broken down biological material from bogs. I think it’s either used for fire, or fertilizer. Maybe that stuff, mixed with the stuff they use as fertilizer create an oxidative reaction like thermite. (The iron oxide/aluminum oxide reaction that burns through metal.) The rust frees up oxygen while it’s cleaved by the high energy highly reactive molten aluminum.
