Thanks for the video. When I organized my work truck, my number one priority was minimizing the amount of things I have to move in order to get something (I hate having to remove three things to get one thing). Sometimes this is unavoidable with a limited amount of space, but the more you plan the more time you save and more aggravation you avoid. I also found organizing your truck is an evolving process, so for anybody organizing their work truck for the first time, don't waste too much time trying to get it perfect right away. Just get get the basics down, and then tweek it as you go.

Adding new or different tools has often times been the factor for me to change up my storage solutions. I like to keep things I access more frequently easier to get to and the lesser used items can be in the less convenient locations. Of course that's optimum but not always doable.
@OcRefrig5 жыл бұрын
yea, i'm at the organizing stage now too. trying to limit motions to get to needed tool or part. and also unpacking and packing the truck aftera big job. im getting older and wiser. trying to save aggravation like u say moving 3 things to get to one thing. really gets old when u have to do it all the time.

Very nice set up. Couple of suggestions though for the future. One, I would put folding legs under those drawers if your going to extend them all the way. If you plan for it you can design the base to accommodate the legs. Two, I would mount the Table saw lower. Looks like a PITA to get it down. Third, I would paint and seal all the wood. That would protect it from rain and dirt. Amazing job though, lots of good ideas in there.

ive been using a service truck for 38 years and found that turning those door locks was not good so, when i had my last service body made i had paddle handles installed on all the doors rather than twist handles. it's much easier on the wrists over the last 20 years. One of the Best ideas' ive ever had. i use a secondary locking system for security. just pull to open for doors and slam to close . its been a god send !

I've always told friends and customers to look at the contractor's truck, it will be indicative of his work. Your truck is very squared away and I'd bet work work is the same. When ya see a plumber's or electrician's truck that looks like it kart-wheeled down the street to the house, a jumbled box of insanity,....well, that's what the work is going to be like. I honestly can not remember ever being wrong on that concept. Its really pretty sensible thinking. Very nice and squared away! Thankyou
@JasonDaniel6 жыл бұрын
Scott H Thank you! That’s very logical thinking and very true. I got tired of wasting time looking for tools so I decided to organize everything better. It’s helped immensely. I can go right to where I know something is at then grab it and go! Or I can tell one of my guys where to find something and they’ll be able to get it no problem. It’s also helped with putting things away at the end of the day. So much faster! Thanks again for the comments!

Nice job Jason. I used to work out of utility bodies and vans in various configs, but one thing we constantly battled was keeping glue, paint.caulk etc from freezing in cold weather. Only reliable solution was keeping all that stuff together in totes so it could all be taken inside at night on one shot. You’ll have the same issues w your compressor, pumps, sprayers, power washers etc ...if you can’t drain it - freeze/thaw will wreck it. We gave up on keeping anything prone to winter problems on the truck. That stuff got loaded on/off as needed.
@JasonDaniel5 жыл бұрын

Fantastic build! Reminds me of my teachers trailer. Very well organized, you know where everything is. If someone had never gone in your truck you could tell them exactly how to get to a tool theyd never seen. I'm definitely using a lot of this design in my truck cap build, but i'm going to make a bed as well. I see a lot of camper kitchen builds and not a lot of camper/tool builds. I want this combo so I can easily travel on weekends and return to work during the week without hassle of packing and repacking all kinds of gear and tools. This build is perfect to supplement my inspiration to the more camper style!

I like what you've done with the truck. I do have advice though... For the rolling shelf, what I would do is have two 2x4s hinged on the front of the shelf. That way when you pull it out all the way you can ACTUALLY go all the way out and the 2x4s will come down and be used as legs. Just thinking what I would do! :)
