This is the First time I’ve seen your entire layout. Amazing is all I can say. Tried to count the number of structures. It would take me about 15 years to build all of them. Lol 😂

Thank you Jason. I love these "updates" and "overview" of the layout. I love youe easy going character and the ability to laugh at yourself (the patreon link blooper). You make me smile and your content is encouraging. Any new kits coming out for Christmas??

David R Lentz, Columbus, Ohio, USA (Sunday, 15 September, 2024) For HO gauge, this is extraordinarily excellent work! And for a work in progress, that goes double! I personally am looking for G gauge structures for my model kits of cars, trucks, etc.

Good info, thanks, Jason! I'm getting to that stage on one part of my layout, so this was very informative. Lot's of things to consider!

Jason, I've been struggling for years to figure out what I wanted my layout to look like. Your layout is my inspiration, your layout made me realize I didn't need a ton of track and operations to have an interesting layout. Like you, I am more interested in model building than operations so I intend to build the majority of the structures. When I first started model railroading about 5 years ago I was doing O gauge because I have my fathers Lionel trains from the late 40's early 50's. Fast forward a few years and I've started over and switched to HO. I am not an artist but with your assistance I have been able to build my first few structures that I am extremely happy with. I've taken these new skills and applied them to my other hobby of building RC trucks when I need a break from the RR. This particular video is exactly the kind that helps none artistic people like me achieve excellent results so thank you for that. Cheers.

It's really interesting to hear your thought processes behind how you add structures. Though you'd hate northern England, where we just have street after street of identical terraced houses from the 19th century!

Jason, great layout tour, and good to see some trains running. Your philosophy on building size, height and colour really makes sense. Great way to look at the layout, and determine what goes where, and why. Thank you for sharing with us. Cheers, and stay safe, Michael

Jason, it is so cool to watch you explain the planning and design phase of the layout. As I contemplate the views and color concepts it inspires my own creativity. I can't help but comment (if I may be so bold) on that section where you plan to remove the trustle and add a cliff section, I can picture a slate cliff that is common in the eastern seaboard villages. Slate cliffs have vertical layers upon layers of various shades of gray with vegetation and in my opinion this would look so cool on your layout in that section. I would love to watch you build this element on your KZbin channel. Great job man, I need my my weekly dose of JJT.

I've been watching your builds for a few years now so I know you have done a lot. Until I watched the train rolling along the layout I did not realize you still had so much to do! Good stuff so far. 👍

Your structures truly are magnificent, may I ask what time period you are trying to recreate? And does the structures and degree of weathering dictate your era.
@gwins12345 Жыл бұрын
Jason, thanks for your insights in color selection. How would you approach a section with multiple plastic brick buildings? Does it come down to weathering and details?

Jason, Thank you for this video…I am at the stage on my own layout that I have begun to plan for where and how I’m placing my roads and structures…some of them are yours. My question is…unlike your layout of a much larger area…I have a small 12” - 18” shelf layout along 4 walls in the shape of a “G”…so my small structure to multi story structure( back drop) is very short…any suggestions? Randy
