The fruit vender is so humble. He offered Jason his shirt to wipe his hands. Simple people with good heart, always makes me happy.

martyn george things are changing fairly fast and you can feel their hope, my first trip to Cuba ( in 4 days I leave for trip 7) if I said anything about believing Cuba would change soon my Cuban friends responded with a tone of 'not during my life time" a disbelief they would see any real change. I will always miss that Cuba the Cuba with no internet, no real cell phone service. Just people socializing instead of on their cell phone. It was maybe my 6th day in Cuba I recall walking along the avenue of the presidents headed to a shack, along the ocean where I liked to get a beer and have a cigar at the end of the day, thinking how I had never felt so relaxed. Most people do not realize for example the fruit vender most likely has college degree. Most of the Cubans I have met are like that fruit vender really good people and easy to be around.

great job. old havana is a fantastic place for street photography. even at mid day, with the hard light and shadows, it's magic.that being said... the guy scratching his balls in the back was just epic... what a touch of "cubanship"

The kindness of that young man is really something to admire, he noticed you needed a napkin to clean your hands and he offered his shirt. I'm already stoked to see what else you'll capture and who you will meet as I continue to watch. Anyone exited to see Cuba after watching Celia on Netflix?

The title of this video saddens me. I lived 19 years in Cuba, and now I am 22, so born and raised in Cuba (I am not from Havana). I've never seen so much poverty. But this does not mean that all of Cuba is poor. There are magnificent places, incredible and unique in my Cuba, good for photos and video. Many tourists focus only on the poor, when there is much more to discover. (It is not personal, I already saw that you have more videos in Cuba) Anyway, thanks for treating my people well, and being humble is what matters.

I love the cars it shows that just because of age don't mean it can't be fixed and not for tons of cash they don't seem to have much. America just throws everything away now and don't want to fix things. Great videos man love how you two fit in and are just real with the people. Love the kid at the end would great for you to get shots of her 10 years from now.

Jason, been following and watching you since you first started shooting Sony (before you signed on with them). I left Canon and went to Fuji. That said, I also love lighting and am growing tired of waiting for Profoto to develop/release an Air remote system for Fuji so I can have the ability to shoot HSS. Learning an entire new system is a daunting thought. I had thought of investing in Nikon D810 and glass because the image quality is crazy and proven. I could print huge if I wanted and unlike Fuji files in lightroom, things work and flow as they should. Have not looked deep into how Sony files are handled. Anyway, I'm starting to sort through your videos since you have been shooting Sony and see if it makes sense to consider switching. I love Fuji's form factor and menu navigation, but actual function continues to be limited. Let the research begin

You should have taken that bag of fruit you bought. :) Looks like most of the images captured using natural light. Not sure how much longer the old Cuba will be preserved as developers finally move in. EDIT: I hope authorities and developers appreciate the historic significance of the existing architecture while also working to improve living conditions.

Jason you mentioned the 70-200mm more than once on your Cuba trip. I'm curious if you were just not wanting to carry a lot of gear walking the streets or if that lens range was sufficient for the type of street photography you was doing?

reading the video topic: I thought he would use the expensive 35 f1.4 and 50 f1.4 for local or maybe a 85f1.4...For me it is good to get intouch with local. well 70-200 GM and the 100 is also Great. Wish I had that kind of money.
