The MAIN reason why the USA western media falsely accuses CHINA of mistreating Uyghur Muslims is because they want to prevent the 1.6 Billion Chinese worldwide and 2.0 Billion Muslims from working together. Both these groups have been discriminated by USA and the WEST for decades and are more likely to work together. Chinese & Muslim nations working together will lead to US losing its dominance of the world. Plus this will gain Asia, Russia, Eastern Europe and African support too including the rest of the world such as Latin America.

Do you know why China wants to develop high speed rail? Because airplanes use oil, but railways use electricity. Wind energy, solar energy, nuclear energy can be converted into electricity. In the future, railway will be the most environmentally friendly mode of transportation.

@Avatar Aang , I think they are experimenting with some faster locomotives for the freight industry. They have built a 150 ton capacity loco running at reasonable high speed, reportedly at 250 km/h but even achieving an average speed of 125 km/h with a train of 1,500 m length will surely change the trade across the Eurasian landmass!

你的理解是不对的,这跟石油没有任何关系。中国发展高铁最本质的目的是拉动各地的经济发展。我们国家的人民收入不高,坐飞机成本显然太高了,铁路出行又安全又便宜,这是最经济的出行选择。

When I was in college 18 years ago we admired high speed railway system in Korea and Japan, and China had 0 at that time. Now China has much longer and better system almost all designed and manufactured by ourselves, 10 times longer than Japan and 25 times longer than KR. This is the fact that we might not believe two decades ago.

China developed rapidly since 9/11 drama. After that drama, USA was busy with war creating, destruction, arms selling, weapon producing, spending most money in defense. In the other side at the same timeframe, China building modern advance structures, modern construction, build modern city, modern subway, modern airport, bullet train, modern roads and bridges etc. They also hold so many advance technologies in that timeframes. China is way ahead from USA in almost every field at least 20 years.

It is incredible that China has built the world's largest high speed network in only twenty years. When there is a will there is a way. The Chinese government serves its people. It does not care about making profit unlike companies in most countries. That is the difference between China and other countries. In the UK, its trains are relatively slow and old. UK train ticket prices are the most expensive in Europe. Every project takes a long time and exceeds budget in terms of time and cost. Very disappointing.
@agnosticpagan
@agnosticpagan 3 жыл бұрын
Just looked up the stats for another project and it blew my mind. By 2013, China had the world's largest network with 12,000 km. In 2000, it was zero. In the eight years since, China more than tripled the size to 38,000 km. And the last major accident was in 2011, and the last fatality in 2013. With over 10 billion passengers trips since then

@@nmew6926 I didn't crunch the numbers for Japan, but China passed their annual ridership numbers in 2011. Even with Japan's headstart, I would not be surprised. 2.2 billion passengers a year! (And I think about 10% is Beijing to Shanghai alone!) Also for comparison, the second largest network is Europe with about 9,000 km. And this doesn't include China's subways and intracity light rail which is estimated at another 7500 km!

Quoted by you: "China made it for their own people's conveniency while others aim at profits." No & yes. It is not made for convenient > not meant for you to meet up with your girlfriend or mistress, LOL. It was made to facilitate fast movement of people & cargo. With that in mind, economy will increase, naturally. A Chinese saying: "if you want to improve economy, built road" Actually it really mean any form of transportation to increase movement within a short time. (to REDUCE TRAVEL' TIME) Henceforth THE high speed rail was born which has the economy of scale. And, Yes, others aim for profit. That's why many CUNTRIES do not have high speed rail. Thank you very much for sharing this interesting and comfortable looking train riding trip. From the look of it, both on the train or outside the train on the platform in a couple of different locations, it generally looked pretty clean. As you described, at least the places this particular trip passed by sure looked very peaceful out there too. Both the calmness of the passengers on the train, the serene scenes outside along the way, and the clean and comfortable ride shown combined gives a very comfortable feeling. It sure makes me want to get on one of this trip next time I get the chance to go to China. I know they have the most extensive railway network in the world, and probably the best developed one too, so I would love to take a longer trip on it to travel to some western regions in China from one of its busier eastern coast locations.

I rode a bullet train when I was there. Just to TienJin from Beijing to see if I could do it. It was pretty confusing but I figured it out. The main trick is that I couldn't use the machines because I don't have a PRC ID card. I had to get in line and buy the ticket there. I was able to buy a ticket going back the same way. I wrote down where I wanted to go on a piece of paper, just to be sure I could communicate to them, but maybe this was unnecessary. I paid cash.
