The MAIN reason why the USA western media falsely accuses CHINA of mistreating Uyghur Muslims is because they want to prevent the 1.6 Billion Chinese worldwide and 2.0 Billion Muslims from working together. Both these groups have been discriminated by USA and the WEST for decades and are more likely to work together. Chinese & Muslim nations working together will lead to US losing its dominance of the world. Plus this will gain Asia, Russia, Eastern Europe and African support too including the rest of the world such as Latin America.

Do you know why China wants to develop high speed rail? Because airplanes use oil, but railways use electricity. Wind energy, solar energy, nuclear energy can be converted into electricity. In the future, railway will be the most environmentally friendly mode of transportation.

@Avatar Aang , I think they are experimenting with some faster locomotives for the freight industry. They have built a 150 ton capacity loco running at reasonable high speed, reportedly at 250 km/h but even achieving an average speed of 125 km/h with a train of 1,500 m length will surely change the trade across the Eurasian landmass!

China developed rapidly since 9/11 drama. After that drama, USA was busy with war creating, destruction, arms selling, weapon producing, spending most money in defense. In the other side at the same timeframe, China building modern advance structures, modern construction, build modern city, modern subway, modern airport, bullet train, modern roads and bridges etc. They also hold so many advance technologies in that timeframes. China is way ahead from USA in almost every field at least 20 years.

It is incredible that China has built the world's largest high speed network in only twenty years. When there is a will there is a way. The Chinese government serves its people. It does not care about making profit unlike companies in most countries. That is the difference between China and other countries. In the UK, its trains are relatively slow and old. UK train ticket prices are the most expensive in Europe. Every project takes a long time and exceeds budget in terms of time and cost. Very disappointing.
@agnosticpagan3 жыл бұрын
Just looked up the stats for another project and it blew my mind. By 2013, China had the world's largest network with 12,000 km. In 2000, it was zero. In the eight years since, China more than tripled the size to 38,000 km. And the last major accident was in 2011, and the last fatality in 2013. With over 10 billion passengers trips since then

I rode a bullet train when I was there. Just to TienJin from Beijing to see if I could do it. It was pretty confusing but I figured it out. The main trick is that I couldn't use the machines because I don't have a PRC ID card. I had to get in line and buy the ticket there. I was able to buy a ticket going back the same way. I wrote down where I wanted to go on a piece of paper, just to be sure I could communicate to them, but maybe this was unnecessary. I paid cash.

The California high speed train was in the making for the last 60 years and will cost a staggering USD100 Billion to complete from the original USD2B at its inception.
