Common BMW 3 Series Problem (DMTL Pump)

This video is more of a DIY for whoever runs into this common fault. These pumps tend to go bad but luckily it’s a pretty easy fix. It’s nice not having a service light anymore lol.

For those viewers that are experiencing fuel coming out of the DMTL fiber filter, check the fuel tank vent valve under the intake. This little turd of apart can cause some serious headaches, including only being able to fill up the car halfway with gasoline, throttle, and or stalling after filling up the tank, it can even cause some catalytic converter codes to be thrown along with DMTL voltage too high codes.

As I've posted elsewhere - for those of you who have DMTL fault codes, Tuck these pump replacement tips away before you watch the video - then do them BEFORE you buy or replace the pump.

Great video I got a 11 bmw 328i and gave me a p1447 code. I ll try gas tank cap first and if that don’t solve the problem I’ll just go and replace LPD pump as u did... good info u shared buddy👍👍

Can you code with that Bluetooth scanner? Or can you just use it for scanning and resetting codes?

Hi I'm going to assume it's the BMW common issue with these pumps is a p1447 high voltage reading so I'm assuming the motor in there is gone bad so the drawing too much voltage if that's what you had for a code that I believe I have the same issue on my 5 series but what was your code I believe you did not say it in your video thank you
