I’ve been using my FX30 since the day it came out. It was actually footage you sent to Qazi for a color grading tutorial that pushed me to buy it. Been using it ever since. I’ve had people blownnnn away with the projects I’ve done for them and new clients thought I actually had REDs look at my portfolio 🤭 I think people get too caught up with the specs. Just go out and shoot. You’ll learn how to go around certain limitations of your camera. I know the biggest thing people knock this camera for is low light performance but…something about the noise you get out of this camera is just - different. I guess because the sensors 6K, noise reduction plays so nicely with FX30 footage I’ve had my ISO CRANKKKED on a shoot in a dark town where we only used nearby store and city lights and a bit of DaVinci NR…the noise was virtually gone and the footage looked incredibly natural. Get an FX30…you’ll love it

@@chrisharris_arizona comments like these make me feel waaaay more confident with the fx30, I mean I get it, people who own full frame want it to be the only sensor great in low light and Sony doesn't want you to think you can get a clean image cranking it because it'd (likely) tank some higher end sales but hey, a sharper sensor and still able to get a clean image in lower light is just the fucking icing on the cake. Cheers boys 🍻

Great review Jason, here is my take from a full time wedding videographer. I have 3 Fx30’s along with s3, R5 & 4. I shoot solo using all 6 cameras during a ceremony, so I have auto iso on at the lowest practical setting & use nd’s to control exposure. I shoot all 6 in 10 bit slog 3.cine. & it is super easy to match all 6 cameras up in Resolve. I have to over expose more on the fx30’s (1.7 stops) as even on a bright day 800iso, I can get noise in the black suits. But overall super happy with the Fx30’s. I also use the 1,2 & 3 memory dial to quickly switch frame rates where the shutter angle is already set as I haven’t got time to muck around.👍🤗🙏nutty nashy

Very solid little camera - you do have to watch the noise in faster frame rates especially, but for the price it’s great. The autofocus is also decent, which when I use it on the gimbal is very useful. I am surprised how low the real DR is for this and the FX3, but then most companies apart from Arri exaggerate the DR of their cameras.

the low light is decent specially compared to other super35 sensors on the market. Sony has some pretty good sensor performances here with internal noise reduction. - 100/120fps the noise is average as it crops in on the sensor and noise appears larger and more noticable - second base of ISO2500 is not as high as the FX3 or A7SIII ISO 12,800. - if you need run and gun low light, A7Siii, FX3 and A7IV are really good options
