Might be your fill threshold. When using ColorDrop don’t lift your finger, hold and then the “Threshold” menu will appear. While still holding drag left or right and you’ll see the color fill more or less.

Not sure I’m following, but try increasing your brush size? Also pick and eraser brush that has clean edges like hard airbrush

That’s the onion skin. You can change the color in the timeline settings.

still doesnt work for me. when I add frame, it greys out my image and doesnt let me erase. the onion skins also dont show up for me in red either, they dont show up at all. I dont know what is wrong with my procreate or why I cant follow this tutorial step by step. please help

Duplicate the frame. Then erase. Adding a frame will just add a blank frame. The greyed our image you see is likely the onion skin. That’s what onion skins are.
