There is a valve on the water bottle hidden by the DS label. When he pours the water, the top compartment is water. He carefully pours it concealing and releasing the valve. It is water. The rest of the contents are actually a wine base. He uses this liquid three times. For the first pour, there is some coloring somewhere. He pours that. It is wine (originally from the bottle). For the second pour, it is the wine base. It is wine. The remaining contents of the wine, he has more coloring and a foaming agent to make "beer". It is not beer and no one ever tastes it. Now the pot is empty. He clearly switches pots at 4:21 when he picks up the plate. This pot is about 1/2 mixed drink, 1/2 coffee. The mixed drink is a forced choice and he pours it. He switches the valve around 5:28, then pours the coffee. Not sure on the sugar.

I think the pot is like a flute with many small holes that when covered prevents the particular liquids from falling out. So depending on which hole he uncovers with his (awkward) grips of the pot it allows a particular liquid to come out of its chamber when the pot is turned upside down. He only lets the spectator handle the pot on the last liquid-switch or not.

Different chambers in the pot controlled by a twist of part of the handle. The heating is battery controlled by a "switch" in another part of the handle or on the pot somewhere. The "dry" sugar is swirled to coat the innards of the wet pot, then only clean(ish) dry sugar comes out because the damp in the pot is caked with the sugar while swirling.

Here now! Intermission. Quite good. Though a much higher quality screen is needed. They’re using front projection with a very distracting stage spot and then smoke effects. So it’s pretty bad. There is massive room for improvement in the stage production I’m sorry to say. For his final act it was 52 Shades if Red and they queued the WRONG music. He made a joke about being a professional. Not his fault but come on!

The second pot has 3 chambers, the pour container has the cocktail, then a small heater, the coffee chamber, and the lid has a shell where the sugar is stored so he puts the lid back on and when he takes it off again he leaves the shell with the sugar. On the second viewing I noticed that the first teapot is also really shallow on the inside so the water is kept in the top and there was always wine in the bottom.

I noticed an editing "trick" again, the very wide shot at 4:15 is where I think the pot was switched, not at 4:22 - I assume you meant the latter in your comment. That would indeed have been slick! Otherwise, entertaining again, but not really mysterious. Have done similar things myself. The favorite trick I used to show children was pumping a quarter of a liter of water from a kid's elbow, just using an "ordinary" funnel. I actually made the funnel myself from thin brass plate... using the same 2000 year old technique. Oh, the heating coffee: A sodium acetate pad in the pot?

the sad part about knowing more and more magic tricks is you always want to get that feeling back when you didnt know how .. its even harder for a magic trick when you know how its done to still feel like magic and i dont mean just skill of hand or acumulated practice im talking about that feeling that made us look into how its done in the first place .. and he is one of the few which just gave a great performance and i think you put it the best by saying ... One note, some red wines like Beaujolais and Brachetto have white wine characteristics and people have tried to disprove sommeliers by coloring similar whites as reds leading the soms to guess the wrong wine. The average spectator might not know this so there is a risk of a spectator saying that this isn't a red wine.... but that's why red went first. The question asked was not, is that a red wine, it was is this wine?

I could immediately tell by the shadows in the base of it, but the teapot has a false bottom about halfway up where the water goes, ABOVE the spout, and then the wine is already in the bottom portion, having been poured in through the spout. The fluid in the bottom is on a spindle that spins when HE spins it. He acts like he's just rolling the wine around inside of the teapot, but no, he's selecting his next liquid.

I did noticed the clear liquid going into the glass but turning into "red" wine. Also, thought he could've switched the pot in mid act, when he went back to the little table and it was out of sight behind the table for a second. I agree with P&T, that it seemed like Sex on the Beach page was somewhat forced, as he quickly skipped a few pages past "Stop". But man, Wolfgang certainly has the appearance of a classic Magician. Pretty cool trick I like he did 4 or 5 liquids pretty fascinating trick I enjoyed it the multiple liquids. I assume there were three liquids hiding in the container and he had a way to change which liquid came out. I think your right about the coloring was in the glass so he got a two for one on the wine. sex on the beach I assume was a force. Coffee could have been instant coffee hot water he added at the start of the trick from his bottle. He poured the coffee out of the top of the container and not through the kettle so I think the kettle isn’t a functioning kettle it’s compartments just my thoughts

I know the coffee cup trick is pretty easy with a false bottom with a sealed slit in it, that is near the top of the cup, and a thin layer of dark liquid (coffee, in this case) covering it. Take a sip, crush the cup, and when that happens, the slit in the false bottom opens enough that the liquid goes to the bottom of the cup and doesn’t seep out as he is sure to keep it upright. In case anyone was wondering how it’s done… lol
@vickielawson3114
@vickielawson3114 3 жыл бұрын
That's not quite how it's done. You're somewhat close but with the real technique you can actually turn the cup upside-down fully before crushing it.

There is a point where he moves the tray on the little desk draw thing and the pot goes behind it for a moment (completely out of view), I believe this is where hes switching the pot out for another one. This is between when he pours the wines and beer. I believe the pot just has compartments and perhaps those have powders or liquid in them. The thing is the wine can't have alcohol in it if its just a powder; so the people on the stage would have to be convinced that it is alcoholic. The guy with the red wine does keep it for a bit and sip on it. I wonder if he realized it wasn't alcoholic. After he swaps the pot, its obvious that the books all contain sex on the beach and that that drink was forced. With the new pot, I suspect there is some kind of divider which he uses to pour out the sex on the beach (this time with alcohol since it needs to contain vodka). Then he gives it to the woman and it feels hot on top likely because the top contains the coffee and the bottom contains the sex on the beach. He also pours the coffee out using the lid rather then the spout probably because he can't pour it through the spout. The way he shakes the sugar, its obvious that there is less than it seems. I think when he pulls the cap off of the pot to pour the coffee, he takes it and replaces it with another one that is filled with the sugar. Its hard to tell because you can't really see what hes doing at this point. Notice when he takes off the cap for the sugar, his thumb is wrapping up the back of the pot. Its like hes holding something on the top of the pot. I think that its probably a small container that sits in the top of the pot and holds the sugar and it was a part of the 2nd lid that he switched out after pouring the coffee. When Penn says that there are multiple "magic containers" on the stage I believe hes referring to the two pots and the sugar container (There might have been a 3rd pot at some point). I think the two pots are designed differently from one another, the first one needs to look normal but can either hold small amounts of liquid or powder and the 2nd one can be as rigged as it needs to be. When we first see inside of the first pot, it looks like the bottom is higher up than it should be in that pot. I think there is a false bottom on the pot that allows him to choose which powder he wants to mix with the water. With the two wines, its just a matter of changing the color and with the beer, since hes the only one drinking it, it doesn't matter what it tastes like so long as it looks like beer.

You are rather missing the point with your alcohol comments. The water is contained in lid #1 and the wine is in the bottle. There is then a second lid to keep the water safe. The red wine and beer can be made easily via a chemical reaction with a substance within the glass. If you watch closely you can see that the liquid is colourless until it reaches the glass and not mixed in the pot itself. The "multiple magic containers" was serving notice that they spotted the jug switch. The sugar was most likely held in the lid although other possibilities do exist. The rest I think you already got.

Hello Jason, You can't mistake red wine for white wine just by having a different color. It is made out of different sorts of grapes which will taste differently. I don't think hes coloring it with chemicals, because getting the taste and smell right also would mean quite a few of those would have to be used on those poor presumably unsuspecting people. What I am thinking is maybe the tea pot is special, having different compartments containing the right liquid and having some sort of switch on the back or on top. Penn seem to think he improved it and doesn't have that, but that's all I can think of. Reminds me of a box of milk trick I watched on another talent show, but there he ripped the box open at the end so I am definately fooled by this cool trick.

I saw this trick on a TV show about a magician going around looking at different tricks, it ended with the guy doing a bullet catch. I thought it was a tv edit thing, but maybe it wasn’t. Lol it was the same concept, people named different drinks and he would pour them out of a tea kettle.

The only thing I saw was Wolfgang pulling a transparent thread from the lid of the teapot as he adjusted his sleeve in order to release the sugar. I assume that is why he is wearing all black to cover his thread pulls.

The fable actually sounds a lot like twitter. People go chasing a lion (say something controversial in a smarmy way,) but then when it roars they run to the block button.

Not sure Penn meant that the tea pot was swapped by saying it wasn’t the only magical container. I would bet that he meant the glasses used were the other magical containers. I’m pretty sure he used the same pot.

Bagana no, he didn’t. Fingers never opened up. Couldn’t have made a switch. It would’ve been a more exaggerated move as he would’ve had to open his fingers and move his hand to the right or left to grab another pot. He wouldn’t put a pot on that side open to the volunteers on his left. Same pot the entire time.

The Hound misconstrue a running lion as a "lesser game". That's why he was giving chase. But as soon as he realize that was a game that can fight back, he ran away. The hound is basically a bully. Bully only pick on easy prey. But as soon as one fights back, they will run away.
@JasonParkerMagic
@JasonParkerMagic 4 жыл бұрын
aha good point. the hound just thought it was a lesser game. I was somehow reading it in the narrator's voice instead of the dog's thoughts. and great comparison to a bully! :)

Re your point on red vs white wine taste, John Cleese did a documentary on wine tasting and blindfolded a party of people and no one could tell the difference between white and red wine. And these were wine drinkers all.

About the fable: it said the hound was used to lesser game, not that the lion *was* lesser game. As in, the hound had never seen a lion before. Also, I think part the moral is the fact that the fox sitting on the sideline mocking the hound for picking on someone stronger, but in doing so he's actually doing the same thing.

I suggest you can also check out the same (probably much better) performance by a Taiwanese magician Lu Chen. He had done this trick on the Spring Festival Evening of China. I think he is the guy that you can do your reaction video on. Perhaps you are not aware that Lu Chen was one of the greatest magicians in Asia or even in the world.

When I watched your first video and when you said "Jedi Power" I had no idea what you were talking about. Now I can understand your code. By the way, this is a very simple trick. I will tell you the secret of the magical teapot. 2:34 This is optical illusion. You actually don't see the real bottom of the teapot. At the bottom there are compartments that contain red wine, white wine and beer. It's like when a magician shows you an empty card deck box that actually contains a deck of cards in the bottom (optical illusion).

Maxime M.Ste-Marie. An object with the size 10 cm x 10 cm x 10 cm contains 1 litre water. The teapot is larger than 10 cm x 10 cm x 10 cm, but it can't get 0.5 litre water (watch 2:18 - 2:43). So, the teapot must have hidden spaces (between the real bottom and the fake bottom).
