Eric Chien performs his amazing magic tricks and demonstrates why he become a FISM winner. This video shows the reaction of a magician so you can see how someone in this field thinks about it! This is season 14 of AGT Americas Got Talent. And this is Eric Chien's third performance on AGT. He is doing very well performing magic tricks for this American version of the show. Jason Parker WOW. Way to think on your feet Eric! That recovery was very nice! Still think the Asia’s Got Talent is better, but Eric and Shin Lim both set their own standards really high And have you ever tried dice stacking? That is HARD! With 3 it’s not as difficult, but I love the subtle changes he made. Dice are square. So are mini cubes. 🤔🤗 Gotta see what Eric brings at the end. Floating cubes, coins, cards, & ribbons? One other thing. Have you ever seen the Fool Us act with the dice stacker who stacked 7 dice, stacked dice halves, and used the juice idea/cups and balls to incorporate it all? Obviously I don’t remember his name, but it’s a boss routine. Great work like always Jason! 👍🏻

I love Eric, and I always get thrilled by each of his acts. But I don't know why this performance didn't bring me goosebumps, and was kind of boring, although it was so technical and amazing: Maybe lack of story, proper background music, and lack of dynamics. This is the first time that i have to agree with Simon, this is not a magic tournament.. this is a talent "SHOW", Shin Lim knew it before he prepares his final act (the cards floating all over the stage) maybe it was the less technical act of all acts he made, but it was great to see for all the "non magic followers" in America. Sorry for my bad english.

Non-English myself, the only errors I noticed in your post were the lower-case i and e - in I and English... ;-) I've seen posts with a lot, LOT of errors by native Brits and Americans, so you can be proud of your language skill! PS/edit: I agree that Eric's performance this time wasn't as mind-boggling as his previous ones.

I admire Eric’s technical skill, but he needs to improve on his performance. He seems too nervous and unsure of himself... a boost in confidence would be key for him going forward.

Ehm... I'll be honest. I have always thought that this routine is the weakest from him. I'm glad he has made some improvements in it but still feels short or less spectacular to me compared to the previews ones., I like his ideas and his methods, the ribbon routine is the best ever clearly, but this one just felt weak, I even missed the confetti part at the end that he did in Asia's Got Talent, that would make it more visual to the audience and the judges.

In my opinion, Eric should have saved his ribbon act for the quarter finals, semi finals or finals. I feel like if he did this act at the beginning, the coin routine next, then the ribbon act, it would have been much more effective. I think he set the bar too high for himself from the get go after his ribbon act and ever since, it seems as if his performances are getting worse. Anyone else agree?

Think it was the producers that forced him to do the FISM ribbon act in the auditions. When Shin Lim auditioned for the show last year, the producers wanted him to do his Dream Act in the audition round. He fought against the producers and was able to do his take of the ambitious card instead, allowing him to save the Dream Act for a later round.

I watched the live AGT show and I have to say I was not impressed with his act I saw where he was getting the Rubik's cubes from he slight of hand that night was not on point.

Well this act is ok, not as spectacular like the other two. He messed up in one part, it happens ( he will never let that happen again for sure) as for Simon same stuff coming from is mouth, its just noise. Hope that Eric just presents what he has prepared and don't start making unnecessary changes because of that. Great video 👍

Mmmm dunno 🤔. With the "extra" cube, a little untidy in parts and some slights not quite as smooth as previously and I'd say "didn't fool me" (was that the other show?). He's a great talent but I think his nerves got the better of him this time. Oh. Jason, in future reaction videos, could you make the object video larger and Jason just a little smaller?

I think that Eric just needs to work on his confidence and stage presence. I’ve never performed magic or have even attempted it. But I did DJ for 13 years which also requires for one to display their talents in front of large groups of people. The first two years that I gigged for live audiences I used to really struggle w it personally. I remember one of the first shows I ever played, there was a couple hundred people there and I just remember my hands shaking uncontrollably no matter what I did. It was some sort of mental hang up that I had. I realized that people really responded well to the tunes I was playing and they would also compliment me on my skill, but I still didn’t have that stage presence. And that’s so important. I don’t remember exactly how or why, but I eventually lightened up, and stopped thinking about it. My stage presence eventually came to me over time. Eric just needs to really work on honing in on that. Once he does, he is going to be a living legend. I realize that the stakes are so much higher on a show like AGT so I hate making that comparison between him and myself. But it’s true. He hasn’t been performing live for people very long at all, let alone being on national tv in front of the entire nation, lol. It will eventually come to him. Just takes practice like everything else. :)

This was a pretty sloppy presentation. It wasn't anything like his first routines. the Asia's GT performance of this same performance was much better. More dramatic. He's still a great magician, the expectation of his shows are just so much higher.

Dom tricks are simpler in my perspective and don't fool me at all, cause it would end up in one point for whatever you choose, men or women, and the tricks are not required specific technical skills, while eric chien does. Totally disagree with Simon this time.

Honestly, I didn't like it. I mean it was similar to Asia's GT, it lacked of flow, and no one was really involved. Julien's just sitting there and that's it. I think that's the difference compared to Shin. Shin always had a flow, a rythm and I think essential to be a good magician. Otherwise, you are good for stree magic, but not good enough to keep a crowd entertained for 30-60 minutes, who have paid to visit your show.

Amongst all magicians, Shin Lim & Eric Chien seem like they're life time rivals just like Hikaru & Akira if anyone has watched the anime Hikaru No Go though it's about Go Board Game but I can relate the anime characters to these two magicians. Just how Hikaru messed up his matches & kept losing because his nerves got him, Eric also messed up here. But no one can deny these two are meant to be rivals (it's proven since everyone keeps bringing up Shin Lim everytime Eric performs)

1) Jason is a real magus. I was looking for Eric last night, found nothing and he is here, already reacted. 2) Knowing Eric ... it was a lousy performance to me. 2 classes under his level. On Asia GT, it was perfect. Here he changed everything and he had lost this Tarantino type of perfect effect on the pcyche. It was a mass. +++ I always watch for fun, I don't really want to see moves, but his hand was under the table all the time, giving the impression as a not very skilled father tries to fool his 5 years old ... and fails to do it. I would not be surprised if it was the end of it.

I kind of agree with Simon here. Compared to his other routines this is not as impressive. And this routine I think relies more on special gimmicks than sleight of hand. If he did this without a long sleeved jacket hanging loose around him, and on a see through glass table instead of this thick black velvet one and if the woman wasn´t seated so awkwardly far from the table, this would have been more impressive. But I´m guessing that if he did that then he wouldn´t be able to pull this trick off. Just saying.. But still a good trick, but its missing the wow-factor. Atleast if you compare it to Giacomo Bertinis act on P&T.

I think Eric is the best of the best and I love him because he doesn't seem a man who has magic superpowers but one of us astonished of the magic he can do! Anyway this time he didn't impress me and maybe I think why, lol! His performance was nice and I appreciated the slight variations of his routine with the cubes, but he was too fast as if he wanted to finish very soon his show...he is a shy guy so maybe, I'm saying maybe, he was sheepish by the blonde girl...she is more than beautiful, she is gorgeous, lol!

Eric definitely does not lack the skill but he needs to be less nervous and more confident in himself. I think he needs to improve on his presentation which should not be hard for him. Also, make it more show like or else Simon will not let him win!

*Henry Harrius* ..... Good utilization though! I like how he mixed it up. I think it was good, but the video with how light the music was came out bad for all us that didn't see it live. Dom and him are very good at what they do. Two different type of characteristics of a magician. Hope Eric doesn't make it "Big" for Simon. That's like straying out of your specialty. Thanks for yet another great reaction video. I completely agree with you re. small vs. big - I really don't like "furniture movers" - i.e. stage illusionists, where the trick is based on big props; practically anyone could do those. What really fascinates me are the amazing sleight-of-hand artists, Eric being one of the best. (Again, I hated the camera/edit work, but I can understand that the producers do it on purpose; otherwise you could slo-mo and for instance see how the big cube changed to candy, pretty obvious already at 6:50...)

I agree with you Jason. The mystery, the timing and the wonder just weren't there this time. I felt rushed just watching it. Maybe he was worried to many people including a judge or two had seen the trick already. Oh, maybe cause it wasn't an announcer guy up there this time. It was that super hot Judge looking extra super hot and judging him up close. Maybe even seeing that first mistake? He definitely should of had confetti flying to finish stronger. Still good though. To be honest I didn't really like this performance. I think that since Steven Brundage, the person who literally introduced rubrics cube magic, people have just been trying to follow the trend and unfortunately Eric got tangled uo in this as well and o just don't think that he should have changed his style cuz i prefer his style.

Thanks for your comments Jason, always a pleasure to watch!! 👍😀 For the first time I was a bit disappointed by a magic performance.... at 6:45 watch what's happening. He first moves the bowl to his right side (from a spectator point of view) and while performing with his left hand you can clearly see he is changing the big cube behind the bowl and table... the colours of the cube allso aren't the same anymore when he's holding up the big cube before smashing it into chocolate.... Or am I wrong?
