I quite like it, most guitarists can play bass, and all keyboardists can play virtual bass. Its early days for me but right now it is quicker and fluid to play a cheap bass into a modelling plugin than editing in EZ bass. Of course the tracker facility is useful at that point, I just think one will have to be using EZ bass constantly to become fast and fluid with it. THANKS FOR THE VIDEO BROTHER love from London 🇬🇧

does the midi articulation mapping play well at all with Trillian? Note on note off would work fine, but with all those slides and squeaks and noise samples mapped out over the whole 88 keys of a multi, I'm really hoping you can get the EZbass midi sequencer to play nice with Trillian articulation mapping at some point

Fascinating product. I'm very intrigued. Great video. Can you confirm what the lowest modeled note is? I have read that it is the A below the natural tuned B of a typical bass but would like to be certain. Also, what happens if you try and drop an octave lower than the actual recorded notes?

It sounds computerised but if your a guitar player that plays bass(most of us do) this can help you write the basslines needed to go with your guitar work. I would use this as a writing tool not as a replacement for a real bass.

Hi, I think EZbass has awesome sound. But there one big problem. And that is the if you hit note A on E string, it is the same note A on A string, and completely unrealistic, i hope am wrong because I got this a week ago but still using scarbee rickenbcker bass. Please let me know if am wrong.
@wilhelmhagberg48973 жыл бұрын
Thanks! Can you type in more complex chords like "sus" or "aug" to make the app use the notes in those chords while "walking" or transitioning? Also, once you have a groove you like, can the app make automatic variations on that groove, so that it varies between eg different verses?

@sizzlemann4 жыл бұрын
I always take EZdrummer midi files out of the program and insert it into my DAW. Does the midi file have to stay in the EZbass program? Or can you move it to your DAW so you can monitor what's going on in the song with all the other tracks? I want all my parts where I can see them and not have to go to different screens to monitor data.
@Dr.Jekyll4 жыл бұрын
I don’t have EZ Bass, but I have EZ Drummer (just 1 week in) and I do exactly what you’re talking about. Since it’s the same designer and EZ Bass is a component in a suite of similarly designed software, I’d be flabbergasted if it didn’t. If that’s the only thing keeping you from buying it, just buy it. 99.9999999999999999999999% chance that it does. But if you need to be 100% certain, either ask Toontrack or read/watch other reviews/tutorials.

Would be amazing and I think it's essential too, cause many sound designer double up a real bass line with a synth sound or a filter or something else where you need the midi notes.

This isn’t for a bass player to stop playing bass. It’s for people that don’t play bass to get some good tones for songwriting/demo recordings. Some who do not play bass may just leave the EZ Bass in for a final mix. I believe most would want a bass player record the bass part for a final mix.

I always prefer to play the guitar with the pitch-shifter -12 semitones in a Helix patch with a bass amp. since in any case it is better to pretend that it feels like it has been played by me ... even badly. It is too cumbersome to make a bass line like this. In the case of the drums, however, it is a completely different story.
@thingfish52714 жыл бұрын
No much of a metal player but this patch is awesome from Jason shop.line6.com/marketplace/metal-through-the-decades-hx-stomp-pack.html - sorry, off topic but I love it. I'm going to get EZBass for sure. I have SD2, EZ Drummer, EZ Keys too. Toontrack is a great company.
@Frankyap1113 жыл бұрын
Enjoy listening to EZbass and I love the natural sound, but it is not user friendly when you drag and drop midi flies from other DAW into EZbass, it doesnt work. This is a real setback as there are many great midi files created from other DAWS that you are unable to use in EZbass, in the form of drag and drop.

@cast3904 жыл бұрын
This is pointless, Most guitar players today have either a Helix or Kemper. By using pitch shift on either of these units you can get a very convincing bass sound. Always being LOCKED into preset grooves, you're music ideas will always be compromised. I'll pass.
@horaciococcioni85384 жыл бұрын
You can record like you said and then import the audio in ezbass. The plugin change it to midi so you can use the sounds of ezbass in case you don't have a bass. You can program the grooves from scratch or play them with a midi keyboard and then edit. It's a hell of a lot more than just preset grooves. Even if you are a great bass player, the audio to midi could be great for change the bass sound to a bass synth sound or maybe both. Again, plugins are not for everyone, but I never really like any bass library and this plugin is very cool for it's functionality.
@VortechBand4 жыл бұрын
I've used Ample Sound Metal Ray (similar to EZbass), but what I use it for is 1) composing the bass lines, 2) creating tablatures for myself, as I often record the actual parts sometimes a couple years later.
@nichttuntun33644 жыл бұрын
You are locked nowhere. You can completely edit everything or play your lines via a keyboard into your DAW or drag recorded audio into EZ bass to convert it to midi notes and than edit this further more. What exactely do you mean? Btw it opens up sound design worlds if you have audio plus the midi track parallel. You can spice your accustic instruments up by under mixing crazy synth stuff or a very low piano under heavy guitars or take samples to enhance initial transients or work with cool sound and sharp envelopes to enhance the attack of a bass and whatnot, possibilities are endless.
