I was working on a preset similar to this and stumbled across a technique where if you put the split before the cabinet block and run cabinets in parallel after the split but you add a pitch block in one of the pathes before the cabinet and detune it by a few cents. Also add a pitch block before the amp and tune it higher by a few cents and you get this chorus like effect as well.

Sounds freaking great as always Jason. I've become a huge fan of your marketplace preset bundles.

I haven't liked any settings on the double take so far. I'm definitely going to try this! I love my TC Electronic Mimiq, but haven't gotten anything similar to it with the double take. Thanks for your help!

My pleasure :-) It really isn't one of my favorite effects but it worked not to badly here!

Well done Jason ,love the sound .I personally like to take a split at the end of the path ,creating 2 outputs panned left and right to desired width , in your case after the LA Studio Comp , and place a mono Simple Delay in the second path with Time at between 20ms to 60ms depending on the size you want , Feedback 0 , Mix 100% ,Level 0.0db Trails off .I have used this approach on recordings for many years and on the Helix its very easy to do. Cheers from Australia

Thanks Steve! Yes that is most certainly another way it can be be done, but I specifically avoided that here as I was looking for an excuse to use the Double Take since I have had numerous requests to do a video with it :-) Personally, I wouldn't use either method in the studio, as IMO, simply playing the part twice and panning is by far the best outcome.

Jason Thanks for your reply ,dont get me wrong ,I agree with you ,playing multiple tracks is always a better sound and I personal like that too, but some people I've worked with ,didn't like the slight differences in the tracks and the slight delay split saved alot of grief.I love your work and am glad you take the time to reply.

Wow awesome! Can i do this with an hx stomp?

Great job man! Didnt dig the double take, I've been using a modulated delay set at 60ms and the repeats set to down to 1 repeat I feel like it's getting close!

Do You have something similiar on the POD Go?
@derekmerrell36585 жыл бұрын
is the split cross over that important? Can you use something else if you are using a stomp? great tone!!!!!
@kez8505 жыл бұрын
It’s just another form of EQ. In this instance, all frequencies above 800hz are boosted by 4db. You could get close or even identical with 1 EQ block. The split crossover method is just a little quicker to change the “top end” or “low end”
@JasonSadites5 жыл бұрын
Thanks so much Derek :-) It is simply a high and low shelf eq. Unfortunately, we haven't had any adjustable shelf eq's in the Helix up until now. That is all going to change with the 2.8 update :-)

Cool video. I have to say I love my Helix and HX stomp. But, Boss has had a good wide split effect without chorusing at least since the GT-10 that sounds more like 2 guitars than this does. That's one thing that the Helix really lacks.
@JasonSadites5 жыл бұрын
Thank you :-) I actually don't like any of those style of effects and much prefer to just double the track in the studio and pan them out. Good to know Boss has a decent workaround though!

Hey Jason, I have the Line 6 Spider effects amp, and I’m trying to get as close to the Zakk tone as possible on a budget. He is my favorite artist, and his tone inspires me to play, so I’m trying to figure out where I’m going wrong because I’m not that technical. I have a double humbucker Epiphone Les Paul Special Edition. My amp settings always include some kind of distortion(usually Classic) layered with a chorus effect. I don’t have a Wah stomp, so I have to use Auto Wah, but I’m still not really getting close enough to the tone. I’m trying to use a Brit style amp simulation through the Line 6, too. Any ideas or help would be greatly appreciated. Awesome video for the Helix!

Unfortunately I am not really familiar with the Spider amp so I am probably not much help with this one...so sorry :-(
