I saw SRV in 1981, two years before anyone outside of Texas knew who he was. It was the day after Caesar Diaz tuned his amps for the first time. He played thru two 1x15 Vibroverbs and a 2x12 Marshall combo. He had not started using the tube screamer yet. He used a wah, but only plugged it in for songs that required it. Otherwise, he ran straight into his amps. His version of Little Wing was the sweetest clean tone I'd ever heard...not a shred of harshness. The Vibroverbs gave him an incredibly rich and clean low end, while the Marshall provided just a bit of rasp on top, particularly with the bridge pickup. That's tough combination to achieve.

Jason, I finally have a real Jimi/SVR tone for my Helix Native & '63 Strat! I can't thank you enough... and I learned some valuable programming tips too! Before this I had to use one of my amps to even come close but now I can get VERY close thanks to your guidance. I find that my Strats, with their single coil pickups do sound a little thinner than your guitar with this patch (mostly a little "cleaner" due to the lower output of the single coil pickups) but that is easily resolved with a bit of amp gain or a hint distortion and maybe a tiny bit more bottom end. I went on to dial in some hotter tones with and without additional effects as 'snapshots' to round out the whole spectrum. I can even get to Woodstock territory now :) I was actually there at age 16 so this is particularly meaningful. This was a nice Thanksgiving treat so thanks again, and be safe.

the amps that stevie used in little wing is probably 2 fender vibroverbs and 2 fender super reverbs along with a dumble steel string singer which he acquired in 1984, the same year couldn't stand the weather album came out, correct me if i'm wrong but I think none of these amps were available in the helix except the dumble ?

Awesome video again J.S. SRV was a legend and one of my fave guitarists. GONE TOO SOON! I still remember that horrible night they announced his death from the helicopter crash on the news. I was devastated to learn such a genius was taken from us. Great job with this one for sure. And yes you are right, SRV, Jimmi and Gilmour are 3 of the guys who are SO hard to emulate as their FINGERS and the way they played their instrument was 85% of the sound for them. You did amazing. Thanks again for all you do....now off to hear the performance video. Cheers. BTW nice ZOSO shirt :)

Hello Jason, wonderful tone! I would really love to hear your performance of this song but it seems your video of it is private! Is there any other place where I can listen to it?

Hey Jason, sounds great. You mentioned when the new version comes out we wont need the split crossover....what about presets that already have them, like this one? Still work fine, or could it be eliminated to save DSP. Great job as always man, awesome to see so many subs. Still waiting on your Michael Bloomfield "Shake Your Moneymaker" preset for tele...(:
@JasonSadites5 жыл бұрын
Hey Nick....thanks so much 😁 When 2.8 comes out I am going to do a video comparing the new shelf and tilt eqs to the split x-over. But these will all still work fine and they aren't really using all that much DSP as they are just Gain blocks. Will be great for Stomp users though to save on blocks. Thanks again 😀
@sjsphotog5 жыл бұрын
you will prob want to remove them on older patches with the split x-over to save DSP in case you have a lot of stuff going on.

No clear info' on which exact amp was used on this track, only that Stevie used Marshall and Fender amps, Hendrix used a Deluxe reverb on the original.
