Cheers Blake! It really is coming along. Can't wait until its finished and I can start using it

I have been running a similar system to this in my fish room for a few years now and have a video of it on one of the sets of tanks that I first started with in my video list.. It works great for me and water out then water in and it contains the syphon all the time.
@JasonsCichlids3 жыл бұрын
Good to hear Tim! I am also not concerned about losing the syphon. As the mere process of filling the tanks back up via the same hose lines "recharges" the syphon for the next water change. I'll check your video out soon too.

You really put a lot of research and theory into this plan Jason! Nice job!!

Yeah been taking my time with the design and then ultimately the redesign. It has paid off. Cheers mate!

Enjoyed this video, excited to see the next one. I’m good with long videos if necessary for content like this, great job Jason.

Great to hear Michael. I understand that some people would like the longer videos. It's a fine balancing act between trying to keep the videos interesting and not boring. Just a heads up though, this series might be 5 parts! But all the videos will all be put into one play list for easy viewing. Glad you enjoyed it mate, hopefully the rest are just as useful for you guys.

Hi Jason love the ideas. Think you could include a bit on your ventralis in one of your next videos? Cheers mate

Hey mate. Cheers, glad you're enjoying the videos. These have been pre-recorded though and I will definitely give you an update on them in my September Fish Room Update Tour.

Looks like your doing the same design I did for my fishroom. Make sure your using at least 3/4" pipes and hoses, anything less is too slow. I use clear food grade hoses between the valves at the end of the rack and the pvc at the tanks. This keep thing flexible incase i need to remove a tank. Note: Do not use quick connect valves if you also use your system to fill up. Those valves can come apart under pressure. Good luck
@JasonsCichlids3 жыл бұрын
Oh nice one mate, actually yes the minimum is 19mm irrigation lines that feed into 25mm lines then into 34mm hose to the garden. You'll get to see the quick connect system I am going with next week, not a chance they will come off! I'm more worried about the irrigation fittings coming apart actually but I can control the flow of the pump for filling.

Ensure you watch part 5 before building this system! You can watch the entire playlist here: kzbin.info/aero/PLTPNViTff4qgg71j9dbveUZ-K0YlK_DhS

Do you plan to use some stationary water pump to suck water into the pipes?
@JasonsCichlids3 жыл бұрын
No pump needed for this. It will all be done by siphon. Even if the siphone breaks and I've emptied past the siphone line, the siphon will be created again upon filling the tanks back up.

I enjoy watching the videos but mate can you please take a look at the high frequency audio. When your in fishroom there is this high frequency sounds and it's super discomforting.
@JasonsCichlids3 жыл бұрын
I had a few people mention high frequency noise about a year ago. The issue is, I can't hear it at all. So it is really difficult to work out what is causing it. Could you hear it when I was talking next to my laptop? Or just during the intro and outro?
@youneverknow47073 жыл бұрын
The clip at 0:08 and then the following clip where your talking in the fish room has the high frequency sound. The clips where your at your laptop don't. The camera mic seems to pick up a sound from somewhere in the fish room. I'm not sure what video editing software you use but you should be able to do a sound spectrum analysis which will show those high frequency sounds and you can cut them out

Isn't 3x 19mm = 57mm less of a bottleneck than one hose of 34mm? You are creating a bigger bottleneck?
@JasonsCichlids3 жыл бұрын
I mispoke in the video and meant to say 18mm garden hose is the max size I could easily purchase (not 19mm) not that that makes much of a difference. But yes. Running 3 separate hoses would drain the tanks quicker. If I had a drain line in the fish room, it would be a no brainer, but I don't. Also, I would still then need to fill each row up separately as I only have 1 pump. And then fit all the different hoses up each time I do a water change. All that stuffing around each week doesnt appeal to me. With this I just clip in 1 hose and its ready to go.
