That F#m is a great chord, thanks for showing those minor progressions. I've only used that chord before in an "E" major progression where you start with a normal "E" chord, then your "F#m", then slide those 3 fingers up to a "G#m" and then maybe the "E" shape where you play an "A" and a "B" - basically open B & E strings make those normal chords ring out in a magical way.

Dude, that was one thing I forgot about is that G#m chords and I was kicking myself after I published this...can't believe I forgot to add that but it's such a beautiful chords to play open like that!

Cool video! What makes f#min really magical is having that easy access to the low natural 7th (E). Plus using E as the tonal center in f#min makes you sound like the 80s

I do love the 80s vibe!

Cheers for that, great vid. Exactly the sort of nice voicing I was looking for. Every other chord in what I’m playing had that open ring but F# barred was killing the vibe.

I'm glad this helped! Yeah, those open notes make a huge difference

Heck yeah man, awesome acoustic lesson. Barre chords do definitely get tiring for sure especially in that position with more string tension there. Also can't wait to try out those different variations you showed! Great video

Awesome lesson, I really like the casual tone of this video, just sitting around relaxing and learning some music. Some of these chord progressions inspired me to compose something myself today, thanks again Jason 👍

Really happy to hear that, especially the casual environment. It seems to fit acoustic quite well!

After a couple of years of floundering. I think your lessons work for me. Approach and style of music. Is there any sequential order I can put your lessons into, as an advanced beginner?
