Man I love how you vibe while playing. Reminds me of when I was a kid, just started playing the guitar, and often having a lot of uninterrupted basement hours to just play guitar loud. I miss that time.

I absolutely love my seven string, also its equipped with an evertune, that has to be the best bridge I have ever played. Thanks for this video! When I first got my 7 I really struggled to do anything on it, and I couldn’t play all the riffs I used to play well in my 6. Some months later I’ve really made an effort to understand it more, and I followed your video guide on how to transition from 6 to 7 string guitars, now it’s hard to go back to 6 strings because the neck is so much smaller. Keep up the good work man!

Really glad these videos help dude! To be honest, I still struggle with wanting to play my 6 strings more. That’s probably because my style is a bit more classic and thrash heavy metal though...and I played a 6 for 30 years before getting a 7

@@jasonstallworth That's a sick guitar though. How does it sound in the room with active pickups though? I've heard the low end gets flabby with a high gain amp and active pickups. However.... I use an LTD EC1000S with Fishman Fluence pickups at Drop C and I don't hear it being flabby.
@jasonstallworth3 жыл бұрын
@@johnsguitarmusicanddemos you really have to back the gain off more as you increase the amp volume. And even then, you’ll still notice that difference between a 7 and 6 string. And that’s one of the things I have a tough time with. The 7 isn’t as tight.

@jasonstallworth3 жыл бұрын
This guitar stays in tune really well and that’s one of the things I love about it. With the Floyd, it also has locking tuners, which helps reinforce the tuning (and heck of a lot easier changing strings…putting those on all of my guitars now)

I always wanted a 7string and a few weeks ago I got myself a custom shop one (Aristides). Now that I have it: it's the best guitar I ever played, but I'm constantly thinking if it really was necessary to go 7string or if I should've stick to 6strings and save tons of money 😂
@jasonstallworth3 жыл бұрын
Lol, I completely understand and to be honest, I often feel the same way. More so from the perspective of my music life was more simple with just a 6 string.
@BenjAmin-vy8oi3 жыл бұрын
@@jasonstallworth Glad to hear that I'm not the only one! And yes, music life was way more simple, but now you can spice up everything. Feel like black sabbath but don't want to miss that nasty breakdown? Let's cover "Sabbath Bloody Sabbath" and build in a breakdown an octave lower than the main riff. I think even if you have just a little bit of fun playing around it's worth the money!
@vaughanmacegan40123 жыл бұрын
I was the complete opposite, I wanted to go to 7 string the first time I heard Rusty Cooley and Francesco Farreri and I never looked back. I call it the lazy mans guitar because you are one fret away from playing 3 octave scales - 3, you, barely have to move your fretting hand. And going down that low and being able to play some notes that a bass player would play just frees you up so much. I now own 4 of the beasts and I think I need one more. I have trouble playing a 6 string now, it's like it's missing a string!!! And the sevens I own are a dream to play. Best thing I ever did!
