Sorry, I’m not a developer for this app, so i recommend jumping on their forum for what appears to be a code error or bug. Good luck!

Hi Alex, i'm having some problem with my data. When i export the data from excel to JASP, i can see the "Gender" column contains words (Male and Female), so how can i change those words to numbers (For exp Male=1, Female=2)? Hope you can help me

The conversion from Excel into JASP is literal, so if you have Male/Female in your Excel file, that's what it reads. Not to worry though, because the analyses in JASP can read the data this way for grouping functions (like an independent samples t-test). You cannot change your spreadsheet in JASP because it doesn't have that functionality. It needs a CSV editor (like Excel) to be able to make changes. Give whatever analyses you want to do a shot, I'm sure it will be fine. Reply to this if you're still having problems.

@@AlexanderSwan Thank you Alex. But I have another question. When I export my data into Jasp, all of these data blend into one column instead of separate into Gender column, Age column. I save the excel spreadsheet in CSV UTF-8 (comma delimited) (.csv). I don't know how to solve this

Hi Alex, I change the data file. However, when I change the label from nominal to scale it seems does not work. Could you help me please? thank you

Ainul, it depends on what is represented in your cells. The change to scale will only stay if numbers/decimals are the only thing in each cell. The other thing I can think of is there is a quirk in JASP where you have to click elsewhere in the workspace after making the last change for the change to stick. If it's not these two things, I wouldn't be able to tell unless I see the data file.

@@AlexanderSwan does it mean, I need to change the original data to numbers? Do you have an email address so I can send the sample of the data? Thanks
@AlexanderSwan4 жыл бұрын
Yes, scale is only for numbers (so ration or interval variables that are continuous). You can go to the About section on my channel page to find my email address!

Where can i get the files to work on?

Which files?

@@AlexanderSwan i meant the working files used in video

@@aakashbagaria1429 If I didn't share the file in the video description it is likely because I can't share the file, likely due to IP issues. Later videos in this series take advantage of data library files, so it is easier to follow along.
