The Young Ones (Cliff Richard Instrumental Cover)

The Young Ones’, composed by Sid Tepper and George C. Bennett, was the title song from the 1961 film ‘The Young Ones’. Cliff Richard & The Shadows recorded the track at EMI Studios, Abbey Road in August 1961, with orchestral overdubs added by Norrie Paramor a few months later. In addition to being on the film's accompanying album, it was released in the UK as a single in January 1962 and went straight to the number one spot in the singles charts. It held that position for 6 weeks and remained in the charts for 20 weeks.
I play lead guitars, rhythm guitar & bass. I preferred this song without the overdubbed strings and so I left them out of my version. The percussion track is a download. Audio was recorded and mixed in Reaper Digital Audio Workstation. Video was shot in HD using a Sony FDR-AX53 video camera and edited in Final Cut Pro.

Hi James I’ve now watched this a couple of times and blown away with the sound! Can I please ask what your setup is for the lead guitar please? Assume TVS3 but strings and amp and is it micd or using the ox box?

Hello again Steve! Thanks for your terrific comments! I haven't yet used the Universal Audio Ox Box in a formal production, and so it is purely decorative in this video. For both lead guitar parts, I used a 57 Reissue Stratocaster, TVS3 echo unit and Vox AC15HW1X amplifier. The amp was mic'd with a Sennheiser e906 dynamic microphone and from there straight into a Focusrite Clarett 4Pre USB interface. I wanted to distinguish the two lead parts by making them sound different, and so I actually used different guitars, strings, echo settings and amp settings for each part.
