Why the division of byte, short,int n long type the memory is divided in 1byte, 2bytes, 4bytes n 8bytes.. I mean how the division of memory is done?? Can u please explain.. I am jus a beginner so maybe i am unable to get it

Hey, sorry for the delay. It all depends on the space occupied by any input in the 8-bit storage architecture that normally every machine or storage system follows. So, for an input to be accommodate in a memory space, it needs to lie within the available limit of that storage space. Like say, an integral input of the type short, which occupies two bytes of memory can only hold a value within -(2⁷) to +(2⁷). The value 2 is because it occupies 2 bytes and the power of 7 upon it is due to each byte having 8-bit, wherein one bit is reserved to differentiate positive from negative while the rest 7 bits hold the given value in their binary form. Hey, In the same link of oracle website, just scroll down and you will find option for JDK 1.8. All the java versions are available. But the latest shown is JDK 11.
