@Eggfur3 жыл бұрын
Nice video again - a difficult topic and simply explained. The perverse thing is that playing on low sim distances makes the game harder since the mob cap is filled up so close to the player. I like the separate cave and surface spawn mechanics. It makes it more interesting and with the other bedrock mechanics it does mean that you're still going to get mobs in both areas. Java has issues with passive mobs when it comes to spawn chunks. If you've spent long enough in spawn chunks the passive cap can fill and no new passive mobs will spawn anywhere else in the world (except at chunk generation). Standard overworld mob farms are definitely slower on bedrock, but I'm not sure that's a bad thing. How many bows and rotten flesh do you need? Creepers are the only exception, and lots of gun powder is only really needed once you get elytra. At that point there are bedrock creeper farms that can produce 10s of stacks of gunpowder per hour...

So in java iron farms works with scare mechanics. Generally golem spawns naturally in village at day time if 3 villagers have link to their beds...(no need of workstation) but most farms uses scare mechanics. Whenever villager sees some danger like zombie,pillager etc. It checks around certain blocks from him to see if there is any golem. If there is not 3 villagers can decide to spawn golem. Otherwise in bedrock there are some requirements and conditions for golems to spawns Conditions are: Village need atleast 20 beds and 10 villager in order to spawn 1 golem. If there are 20 villagers 2 golems will spawn. 75% villagers should work in previous working day in order to spawn golem. They should link to their poi( beds, workstations etc)
@chrisglosser73183 жыл бұрын
The iron farm mechanic is basically the same - you just need tons more villagers (and the villagers need to be linked to a bed and have access to a workstation). Prob is, this gets broken the second you place a bed or a workstn block anywhere hear the farm

Also, it seems to me that they spawn less iron golems at night, sometimes only "1 per try" the whole night.

I don't think you're taking account of the fact that the size of the spawnable volume determines how many chunks the game needs to keep loaded around each player. My quick calculation tells me that extending the spawn volume from 44 to 128 blocks adds about 900 chunks to the list, an increase of 66% over the simdist 4 volume. I suspect that's too much for a low-end device to support even for a single player, and each additional player makes it a lot worse. So that explains why spawning is tied to simdist. So then the next thought people go to is to raise the minimum device requirements, but that would chop off a big piece of the mobile cross players. Cross play is the only reason Bedrock was created in the first place. If they made separate editions for console, mobile and desktop, MC would be like any other game and would sell like one. Cross play tapped a huge market of people who wanted to play with friends but didn't have the right devices. It took advantage of a synergistic market, and in doing so it became the #1 seller in the world. Without cross play, economies of scale would have made Bedrock too expensive to develop at all. So you can't just kiss the low end mobile devices goodbye, that would kill the game. There's more, but I'm not an expert in all this and I don't want to overstate the case. I'm just saying that from a business standpoint, there are complexities beyond what technical players tend to look at and that limit how well the game can afford to be tuned to their preferences. It may be that Bedrock isn't the best choice for a big MP server like TB, although I think it does pretty well myself. But I don't see getting it to parity with Java for that kind of player as a realistic goal.

As a bedrock player that's moved to Java recently for the sole purpose of hardcore, the difference is incredible. There are some ways to make up for the discrepancy in bedrock mob farms for some entities (I'm looking at you my beloved Guardian farm) by pushing mobs directly into the nether, thus removing them from the mob cap, but this can also easily crash the game if you wait too long so it has no real AFK factor (mobs will stack up in INSANE numbers that have gone through a portal, and when it enter into the nether to kill them, your system just laughs at you and catches on fire). I've also crashed the game with a nether portal gold farm because I forgot to turn on my trident killer, but alas, give us bigger mob caps Mojang so i dont have to over engineer mob farms.

I honestly don’t think Mob spawning and de-spawning on Bedrock will ever be on par to Java edition until they discontinue support for all low end mobile devices or anything that isn’t a console or P.C. Unfortunately, a huge base of Bedrock players are on mobile. You can’t rely expect the devs to tweak mob spawning on Java to closely match Bedrock because that would be nonsensical. What a PC can handle is very different from mobile devices or consoles can handle. I know that Bedrock on PC exists but the code is the same between mobile and consoles. Other than that, I am happy they fixed the spawning and de-spawning mechanics not all that long ago. I’m sure they are still trying to find new ways to improve such mechanics. As a bedrock player, i just want the offhand to be useful and faster mob spawning. Nether roof probably wont get added to bedrock as it was originally unintended so i wish mojang would add something unique to compensate

What simulation distance should I play on my solo world? ( sometimes my brother joins, he plays on ps4 and I now play on ps5) Also, would be great to see a video about advanced farms. I know you can build 2 farms of the same type and have them both loaded at the same time but what would be the distance depending on the sim?

Is this outdated and have they chaged stuff? because my experience with bedrock was completely different from "spread out mobs" more like a movie version of a zombie horde at night, jus with skeletons, spiders, creepers, and zombies. Hell. On java i've never had witches on the first night, yet bedrock it happened right away and it was a complete cluster F. I'm not some mega elite player but i got good enough at java minecraft's nights that i usually just survived the first couple nights before i bothered with a base, yet on bedrock, not even close.
@ThatMooKoo2 жыл бұрын
Has Bedrock changed since this video? Because I definitely see more than eight hostile during the night in Hard. I have a skeleton farm on Bedrock as well, which I don’t know if Spawners change things, but I can get a good stack of ~20 skeletons in about two minutes. Though I do notice I can’t get very far from the Spawner and it will stop. I feel like something isn’t the same since this video…

Bedrock do have pack spawning for passive mobs its just mobs usually spawn on the same block and they dont seperate untill u get close. Java in the code they acually have deffrent spawn attempts with every pack spawn unit so its never on the same block so it seams like their is less mobs on bedrock then java but its actually around the same passive mob wize. The main prob woth java tho is their is passive mobs dont despawn and this is thing called the spawn chunks witch is always loaded and a mob cap of 4 you half to clear all the mobs in the spawn chunks and make it spawn proof for passive mobs before u can acually get passive mobs to spawn again in same area. This makes breeding passive mobs a necessary if u want meat for food early game. But in bedrock. Passive and hostile mobs despawn the same meaning you will always have passive mobs comming in you dont have to worry about running out of passive mobs in your area making breeding unessecary

i think the reason bedrock has a cap of 16 (8 under and 8 over) is because the systems that its running on may not be able to handle more mobs and more AI causing more lag. recent systems have gotten better and bedrock edition has been getting better (like realm simulation distance increasing to 10) but it seems like a PC is able to handle the mob rates that Java has whereas an Xbox or a playstation would struggle with it. not saying PC is better just that maybe Bedrock spawn rates are due to a lack of processing power and ram on the devices that bedrock is on. what would i do to balance it out? obviously i would increse the cap of bedrock to at least 32 maybe even 48 and decrease the java edition to 48 and keep the spawn distance the same as on bedrock so that gameplay between each system didnt seem so... different

I think that the real problem is that Microsoft is in charge of Bedrock edition, and they have absolutely no clue how to make a Minecraft game. Bedrock feels like a Minecraft skin suit. Like the only similarities are superficial, and Microsoft only bought Minecraft for the brand recognition with absolutely no intention of making an actual Minecraft game. I'm stuck without a computer, so Bedrock is my only Minecraft option, and I feel like I'm being purposely left out because I can't afford to put more money in Bill Gates' slimey pockets.

This is painful to experience. I built a HUGE mob farm on Craftaway and was sorely disappointed in the drop rate. I completely blame this on Mojang wanting Bedrock to run on low power devices. Java speed farms would crash those devices. Hard mode should be reserved for people with devices that can run proper hard mode. Also Java is OP AF!

You are incorrect about bedrock spawning. Yes, simulation distance affects spawning capability. However the "spherical" spawning is not completely accurate. There is a sphere of of 23 blocks around the player where mobs "should" not spawn but sometimes do if the initial spawn attempt started outside of the 23 block sphere and then group spawning led to selecting a block withon 23 blocks of player. The outer limits of tge spawning is mostly set by simulation distance. If at 6 chunck sim distance, then mobs will spawn within 6 chunck including the chunk the player is in, s0 5 cuncks out from current chunck. It is not spherical however; it only goes out 5 chuncks in the four cardinal directions ( N, E, S, W ). In bedrock, the mobs never stop moving, they will just despawn if they go too far out. Bedrock surface and cave spawning rules are a bit more complicated than you stated. Through testing, I noticed the 8 and 8 tou mentioned, however, bedrock tends to replicate spawns when there are nultiple layers. So, if a skeleton spawns of surface layer and there are 3 cave layers beneath it, it tends to spawn 4 skeletons at the same x and z coordinates just on 4 different y levels. It does not always do this, but it does happen frequently.

Wow…this confuses me, because my most played Bedrock survival world is constantly spawning hostile mobs. Watching you walk through your Bedrock world, I’m thinking, “gah, I wish!” Watching KZbinrs play their hardcore worlds, I’m thinking “gah, I wish!” When I created a Bedrock survival world, last year…I did what I always do and crafted a boat so I can sail around the first night. I ended up going through a swamp…and there were two witch huts very close to one another…and at least 20 witches came out of one of the huts, like they had just finished up a meeting, and stood at the water’s edge just staring at me. It was like a freaking horror movie, And I hadn’t really played Minecraft for about 4 years, so I thought, “is this something new?”
@gabrielandy9272 Жыл бұрын
what simulation distance you play on? the lower you simulation distance, the more closers the mobs are to you, the higher it is the less mobs overall you get, and we want a higher simulation distance since we want the chunks to be alive far away i want stuff to update i want my furnaces to update i want trees to grown and so on.

I hope the mob spawning gets better on bedrock edition.It’s unfair that Java gets to make these supper efficient mob spawn era and bedrock edition can’t.Java edition mob grinders without a spawners are better than bedrock edition mob grinders with spawners.

This is extremely unfair bedrock needs to be updated to fix this immediately it’s unfair to people that actually want to engage in the endgame on bedrock we can’t even make semi efficient but on Java everything is as easy looking up a tutorial on bedrock you need a f******g phd in the game to even got semi decent numbers

Problem is mojang want bedrock to work on as many devices as possible, and that means devices that are old and slow, java doesn't have this problem, and mojang won't remove older devices unless it interferes with a world changing update, I think they should have a setting to allow people who are not playing on a 10year old mobile phone to increase mob caps and spawning.

Thank you very much for the detailed video I really enjoyed it. One main factor you are missing is the system requirements required to play both Java / Bedrock MC. Bedrock is scaled down so poorly for the worst mobile smart phone can play it. Remember Minecraft pocket edition before bedrock? No one wanted to play that limited version of Minecraft. I agree those that play bedrock on a computer or Series X equivalent system are going a lesser experience of the game, but Mojang wanted to eliminate Minecraft pocket by pulling down the “windows 10/Xbox” version of the game. Great video, it’s an important topic to keep bring up so Mojang changes something. I would like to see like how Java can load any version of the released game, add something like that for Bedrock and add a load options to increase mob spawn to parity level/match Java.
