Could you please create one video on how to fetch and write that data to database (like MySQL). I mean yes, we can manually create connection write and execute sql queries, close connection, but how to use Jersey or JEE builded in functionality to work with database, what is the best practice within this type of project, I do not know, may be something like JDBC connections pool, JPA, EntityManager? What is better to use in your project, please guide me?

How can I change the XML tag names (the java fileds has independent names)? How can I change the order of XML elements to make them change simple alphabetic order?
@theamrpi3979 жыл бұрын
Hi Koushik, Will it be possible to do a XML post video. Right now I am taking the xml as string and parsing it. I am guessing there is an easier way involving JAXB, but the documentation is rather vague. Thanks and Regards, Hari

Hello Koushik, first of all, thank you for your awesome JAX-RS Tutorials! I have a question, is it possible to handle action-based URIs? In your example you are using the Resourced-based. Greetings!
@baibhavghimire38276 жыл бұрын
Action based URI aren't used in REST design in my opinion

Just in case someone is interested. I kept getting 404 on my attempt to get to the specific message. It turned out there were two reasons behind this. First, there were ambiguous paths (I defined @Path for the class and for the second of two methods, assuming that the first method would take the valued from the class; the assumption was wrong). Second, there was a problem with casting Integer to long and back which Jersey decided to tell me nothing about.

Following each steps i get this as responde: 400 The request entity cannot be empty. Why?

what if there is ambiguity in @Path{"/{messageId}") and @Path("/{messageName}")?

Guys, i'm getting a 404 not found error. i'm guessing, If the URI path parameter cannot be converted to an long, the request is considered a client error and the client will receive a 404, “Not Found” response from the server. --Updated from the original post: As a quick work around to test my changes at this point, i added this and it worked like a charm. but i'm sure it's gonna blow chunks if there's more than one HTTP methods in the class or different set of @PathParams for that matter... @Path("/messages/{messageId}") public class MessageResorce { Please share your thoughts!

Keep in mind when you add @PathParam to choose the right one because there are two same classes but in different package, or I could have a problem when you make request to the resource

Hello Koushik, first of all thanks for all your knowledge sharing. While working with tutorial, when i removed that commented out dependency for JSON, my workspace is giving errors and building the application. Failure to transfer org.apache.maven.plugins:maven-resources-plugin:pom:2.6 from repo.maven.apache.org/maven2 was cached in the local repository, resolution will not be reattempted until the update interval of central has elapsed or updates are forced. Original error: Could not transfer artifact org.apache.maven.plugins:maven-resources-plugin:pom:2.6 from/to central (repo.maven.apache.org/maven2): The operation was cancelled. pom.xml /messenger line 1 Maven Configuration Problem this is the error i am getting now. not getting issues for dependency though. Can you or someone here help me out with this ? i have not changed anything in my pom.xml, only uncommented the dependency.

I know this i late, but make sure you return the correct media type (xml), also try retyping the @PathParam annotation. There are 2 and its important you select the correct one.
