Of all the guys making barebow videos this is one of the best. Good form.

Nice to see a well presented video on tuning that considers the physics of the system you are dealing with. It is clear that you have a deep understanding of the factors that contribute to arrow flight and performance. Thanks for a sophisticated and educational presentation. And that bow is gorgeous!

Thank you. I love shooting it.

Those string puffs can absolutely change the spine. I had monster sized ones on my bear bow and once they puffed out and I trimmed them down the spine went from being so stiff it smacked the riser to being perfect. Funny how little things can make such a big difference.

Nice shooting. I appreciate the fact you keep it real.

Great video. I appreciate the honesty in the content and the shooting practices. I agree with your philosophy in respect to shooting distances and arrow weight.You are shooting really well. Amazingly quite bow. I too like to drop down on the knee sometimes on 3d shoots, but i usually do better when I drop to both knees. It gives you a much more solid base. Because our knee is rounded by nature we get a little roll without even realizing it and therefore throws us off a bit.

It’s an outdoor range that is about 10 minutes from my house. Part of a park system and only costs $35/year for a permit

I’ve owed 5 Javaman bows… now, I’m not a wealthy man, by any means, but Gregg’s bows are just so incredible that I had no choice but to keep buying them… 😅. Most of my arrows end up in that 13-14 gpp weight as well. I have to have a 30.5” draw length, so I can still get a good bit of speed (not that it matters to me).

I’ve got zero complaints about my Javaman DX5 Longbow limbs set on a Satori riser that shoot 668 gr arrows at 168 FPS@ 50#.

Great Video! I noticed you also own the Toelke Pika, and I was curious to have your opinion on which bow you prefer for hunting and 3D (Pika or Elkheart) and why?
@bowhuntingsoul21493 жыл бұрын
Actually I sold the Pika. I didn’t have it for very long. Amazing bow but it just didn’t feel special to me. Just personal preference.

@@bowhuntingsoul2149 That is good to know, and I am like you, I prefer a bow with character that feels special. Thanks for the input.

I know I can tune my bow (adjust brace height) to quiet it down without puffs with 600 grain arrow. Can you achieve that with your Javaman?
@bowhuntingsoul21493 жыл бұрын
Yes, very close. I’m at 580 grains (43/27”) . The puffs help with what little string oscillation is left.

Way to rip off Ron Laclair with that bow.. before ya comment back,.. do your homework with a reply.. I’m sure it shoots nice, it’s effectively a Laclair super shrew..
@bowhuntingsoul21493 жыл бұрын
Um... who do you think built those Shrews for Ron? Thanks for your incredibly helpful insight and positive comments. Please remember to like, share and subscribe!

Wrong, javaman copied sinusoidal limbs from davide viccini. Leclair does not built this limbs type
