I used to shoot with 250 grain points way back when I was still gap shooting to bring my arrow closer to the target in my sight window. I always felt that the heavy point gives the arrow a nice straight trajectory. Like when I was a kid and I would add a paper clip or penny in the front of paper airplanes and they always flew better that way. Good to see you Brother. I haven't been shooting much at all, just got my motorcycle permit and it's motorcycles 24/7 in my brain ;)

That point on shot was right on!!! The shots after I think was your bow arm moving after release. Not the movement itself, you seem to drop your bow arm to the same spot but at different times when compared to when you release. When I compare those first four point on shots your bow arm drops at different times relative to your release. Nothing wrong with dropping your bow arm, we all do it to some extent but the drop should be from the weight of the bow as you keep pushing forward. That is I think the biggest advantage of using a finger sling. It takes out holding onto your bow after release out of the equation. Some may see the finger sling as an added step that complicates the shot process but in fact I feel that it simplifies greatly by allowing my bow hand to just rest naturally and everything after release is pure reflex for me, I don't have to think about my hand, or the bow, or gripping the bow or making sure it doesn't fly out of my hand because that is exactly what happens if I don't use a finger sling LOL!

Yeah I think there is something to that. Have fun with the motorcycles! My attention has drifted a bit back to guns. I recently picked up an AK-47 and have been enjoying learning it, and shooting it. I always kind of wanted one. It was the enemy's rifle during my career in the Marines, so for me it's kind of nostalgic.

@@shanepitzer4126 I watched a documentary on the AK-47 and how it has been produced all over the world and has been involved in so many conflicts. That rifle is iconic, so much so there is a country in Africa I believe that has it on their flag ;)

Don't know how I missed this ... I like a little heavier arrow myself. That Bodnick Stick seems to be an awesome bow, everyone seems to like them!

I like the Slick Stick myself. Most seem to like it, but I've heard a number of people who don't like it also. It's a very light bow in mass, so it really gives you feedback on any mistakes.

I have the Slickstick with a #45 drawweight. But primary use wood arrows. Enjoyed the deer, I have elk around my place.

Elk..nice! I have another 50# Slick Stick. It's also very nice to shoot, but I shoot the 35# the most.

Aanii, greetings, I also shoot a slick stick,50#@28",but I draw a bit more, I've been shooting a 500 spline arrow with 125 gr. field tips, this bow likes the setup, it's so far the fastest bow I've owned, cuz I also have a hickory/bamboo backed 72" longbow that draws 50# also, I've had the same bowstring on my slick stick now for 5 yrs.,it wore out, lol, just got a new one, it lasted 2 weeks, wtf, now I can't shoot my bodnik, with strings at 40 plus dollars a pop where I live, oh well, I still have ol'faithful, great videos n info man, shakyjake out.

Nice video. I've always shot heavy arrows. I think this side of the pond we tend to in general. More efficient, uses more bows energy and quiter. Been to the states fair bit (my late wife was American) and got lot comments about shooting "street lamps" and "telegraph poles" ha ha. I shoot 625g off my 55lb bow (tho probably nearer to 49-50lb) at my Hobbit 26 inch draw length lol. Subscribing was easy decision and I look forward to browsing though your videos. Greetings from the UK.

Glad you enjoyed the video. I prefer the heavier arrows for the same reasons. My wife lived in the UK for over 20 years before we met. Her daughter lives southwest of London in Castle Cary, it's not too far from Stonehenge.

I subscribed to your channel as well. I also have an interest in knives, but haven't gotten around to any knife vids yet. I have a few Mora's, Ontario's, ESEE's, and a few others.

155 fps with 600 grain arrows and a 35 pound bow, impressive. Those Germans know how to make stuff...
