Lantern Rite (read) is back in Genshin 4.4 and we get to choose a free 4 star during it. Since Ningguang is one of the options and we don't yet have her, the decision seems pretty easy. Time to secure our 5th character on Geo Only...
Geo is often viewed as one of the 'worst' elements in Genshin Impact... Time to try and change that. Can we beat Genshin Impact using ONLY Geo characters? Only time will tell.

I still find it hilarious that for the longest time Geo was seen as the “Men” element, because it’s only viable team consisted of nothing but the 4 male Geo characters, as well as the fact that there was twice as many Male geo characters than Female at one very short moment in time And yet, Java has every single Female Geo character, with a new one on the way that he will probably also get, and not a single Male one

For Ningguang you can give her the fontaine craftable catalyst, it's a dps catalyst and it's free :)

It requires a healer to be of any use and Noelle only heals while on field. Personally I'd just go with TTDS and throw 4pc noblesse on her. That is a 68% atk buff to the next character you swap to (Navia). Ning's personal damage is awful until she has her c6.

I have Navia, too. It’s so wild how she can almost solo an entire side of the abyss by herself. I only use Ningguang to proc crystallize for her. I regularly do 23K (not a crit). I tend not to wait until she has 6 shrapnel, I should though.

So glad another episode is added to this series!! Also I just thought of a good idea for team comps for the abyss! On one side you could run Navia with noelle (so navia has a shields and heals) and on the other side you could run DPS ningguang with sub dps traveler, and because yunjin gives a shield with her burst- if she has enough ER- you shouldn’t have to worry about healing!!

i think because in the liyue archon quest traveler is shown to use both anemo and geo at once while in geo mode (childe boss fight cutscene) it’s canon enough to use anemo traveler and not really cheating

While there are certainly work arounds for the upcoming anemo windwheel issue there aren't any to my knowledge for the giant pot. I'd just take the L and move forward. Maybe someday we will get a pyro applying gadget but I doubt it would be anytime soon.

Until AR 55 i was a geo main all my characters were the only source of dmg i had. So, i turned my Ningguang into a healer and she still the best healer on my acc. I'm so grateful to watch this series, I feel nostalgic of those times. 💛

Regarding what weapon for Ningguang. With what you have, Prototype Amber would indeed be best, since her burst cost is low and as you said, you'd then have another healer and thus one on both sides in Abyss. Given that Noelle is, from what I recall, the only Geo healer and Ningguang is the one Geo catalyst, it might be smart to invest in her as a healer, despite her DPS focus.

You can actually do the quest using the firework launcher you can buy from liyue. The trickey part is to get it to be under the pot and I can't verify if it's true because it's impossible to line up the enemy to where the firework explodes. Hopefully you read this comment and give it a try. If this doesn't work you can use the traveller. And stretch the rule cuz travel is basically a anemo, geo, electro, Dendron and hydro character so since she is also a geo character it wouldn't necessarily be cheating. And you can try if fireworks apply Pyro from you main account because the firework for the last or before last lantern rite is easier to use but the one you can buy works as well. Don't be mad if it doesn't work cuz I got this from chatGPT

I definitely wouldnt recommend prototype ningguang when you have noelle navia, noelle is a great on-fielder to tank for the time while you swap in to navia for burst damage. Just letting you know investing in Noelle is definitely enough to keep your team alive

Geo element has been left since the region of Sumeru came out. Imagine doing abyss then this come an elemental shielded enemy and you are a Geo main. Hoyo should do something about this. They have been so quiet about this question which was raised by many players during the release of Sumeru.

A tip for the abyss mages, while they are immune to knockback when their shields are up, they can be easily pushed, just walk at them without attacking and you can move them around. Wasting a few seconds can make a huge difference if you can work on breaking multiple shields at once

Just so you're aware, abyss usually caters to the new character and with Chiori coming next patch, the next abyss will likely have boosts towards geo.
