This was 25th show of magical Pancham. The centerpiece of the event was the Legendary poet and lyricist Mr. Javed Akhtar. Javed and Pancham had an affectionate bond. Javed showcased the uniqueness of this bond in the following event. On this day, he also shared the top 5 songs he admires of Pancham and much more...This was an exceptional evening . We are sharing these beautifull moments with all music lovers in three parts. Teesri Manzil (1966) 55 years and counting, but the song Aaja Aaja.. is never old and that is Magic of Pancham. Blessed to be growing up listening to Pancham's creation when those songs were being released Hit after Hit after Hit. The Hit parade continued till his last film '1942 A Love Story' (1994) released after he left the Stage. What a show and the show continues.. Jai Pancham

पंचम के संगीत से मेरा परिचय मेरे दोस्त आशुतोष ने करवाया था लगभग 35 बरस पहले , सुनता तो मैं पहले भी था पर म्यूजिक डायरेक्टर से वाबस्ता न था । वो जो वाबस्ता हुआ आज तक वो ही है बस , महफ़िल शुरू किसी के भी गाने से हो.... खत्म तो बस पंचम से होती है । 1942 तो बस उनके लिए ही देखने गया था । बोहोत ही अच्छा प्रोग्राम आपने रखा जिसे हम लाइव तो नही देख सकते पर यूट्यूब ने इस दूरी को खत्म ही कर दिया । 🙏 धन्यवाद आपका

I am glad Javed Sa'ab mentioned the double standards some film directors and producers showed with Mr. RD Burman - first dismissing him, then singing praises after his death. It is a real bad reflection of the work culture that exists in our film industry. It is sad that Mr. Burman passed away without receiving the full recognition he deserved. In his era, there wasn't much awareness and availability of avenues other than Bollywood films. Mr. Burman was so talented and innovative in music that he could have released separate music albums of non-film music - just like independent pop singers and musicians. He wouldn't have needed to stay with Bollywood films only for music in the current era.
