To me saqi is the best off spinner in the world. 2 test matches against india in india against indian master batsmen. This guy gets 5 wickets in all 4 innings. And who deserves more than the great, inimitable Javed Miandad? But you are a wonderful person too, and I am proud of you as a Pakistani. You have been the greatest off-spinner to have played for Pakistan. Not surprisingly, you feature in the best ODI teams configured by several former cricketers as seen on the social media. In a sense, Javed Miandad is my contemporary, though not as a cricketer. He studied in Church Mission School, while I was in St. Paul's. My two colleagues, Qasim Umer (at St. Pauls) and Sikander Bakht (at Adamjee College) played for Pakistan alongside Javed Miandad. I recently published my autobiography (Shadows of the Rainbow) and I have vividly recalled the events of 10th October, 1976 that took place at the Gaddafi Stadium, the day when Javed Miandad made his Test debut. Miandad will be remembered as long as genuine cricket is played and I am sure his legacy will survive the test of times. Thanks again!

SaqlainBhai, I just heard your heavy praise on Javed Miandad as a batsman in the 1996 world cup season. Sorry Sir, but I just watched the entire match of Ind vs Pak of 1996 WC and Pak lost the match courtesy Miandad !!! Many wont agree with me but plz look at his strike rate. It was in the 30s n at best at 48. Now is this what you call hitting you for 14+ in an over batting sensation??? Even Imran Khan as a commentator had written him off saying Miandad was a great cricketer before but now 'There is no power in his shots' !!! Great cricketing mind, great at mental disintegration of batsmen, bowlers and umpire But I am afraid, in 1996 he was a shadow of his playing self in that world cup. It indeed was a shame that such a grt cricketer had to retire like that. The game n age catches up with you, doesn't it?

Although S.M introduced DOOSRA in international cricket & which was rightly appreciated the world over, I would like to say that Doosra was not a new thing in Gulee or Club cricket. Every second club had a bowler who can do that. I don't know y it was not introduced by earlier spin bowlers, although they were also competent & experienced enough when they entered international cricket.
