I have watched it in normal speed so many times and it looks like a foul, but I have watched it in slow motion as well and I think he somehow saved it. It was also a 89m throw. onebadmoto It's the most technical event in track and field next to pole vault. It takes a lot of FLAWLESS technique, power, and strength to throw the javelin that far. It's very difficult to reach a very high competitive level, like these world class athletes have. These are all studly athletes!! And personally, I think it's just a bad ass event in general, but that's just my opinion. :)
