Many many years of Diablo have culminated into this new game. All the other Diablo games have equally epic cinematics. I get chills watching the old ones from YEARS ago!! Blizzard really knows how to tell a story! You should also consider watching some of the cinematics to the World of Warcraft games.

In the 2nd video, that was indeed an archangel, named Inarius. According to the franchise's lore, Inarius and Lilith (the winged woman demon), fled the the war called the Eternal Conflict, opposing the Burning Hells and the High Heavens, as they both realized (inside their own factions) that this war couldn't be won. In turn they'd would get with one another, creating a place, called Sanctuary, with other "rebels" where they thought they'd be safe and far from all this neverending violence, and would become the home of Inarius and Lilith's offspring, the Nephalem, which is humanity, inheriting both traits of their parents, Good and Bad. I hope I teased enough and I'll leave the rest for you to look up ;)

That “it’s a gate” then the echos sends chills down my spine every time. I’ve seen this cinematic for both characters I made and i absolutely love this intro. It really sets the stage for the game. That and the Reverend Mother in the battle scene. The Angel is Inarius, who runs a religion on “earth” (Sanctuary) called the Cathedral of Light and they are such a fascinating military order just from this cutscene. Even their style of battle is like a prayer ritual. Trust me, you owe it to yourselves to watch all the cinematic of this game. The second half of the battle in hell is absolutely legendary in every way.

One thing I always have to hand to Blizzard, their choice in voice actors is always FANTASTIC. I get the same chills with Darin de Paul's voice lines for N'Zoth in HS.

@@Aceries_they really don’t skimp on the voice talent, or the animation talent. There are moments of this where the close up brings to light levels of detail I’ve never seen. From the dirt and blood accentuating the cracks in their hands to the subtle veins peaking through Elias head. There’s levels of care and attention that makes me wish their animation/cinematic department were given a budget and time to make feature length films. They’re insanely talented.

Just some background from a guy who played 6K hours Diablo 3 (wonderful reaction by the way): Inarius was an angel and one of the most powerful beings in the High Heavens. However, he grew disillusioned with the eternal conflict between Heaven and Hell and yearned for something different. Inarius believed that angels and demons should coexist rather than fight each other. Lilith, on the other hand, was a powerful demon known as the Daughter of Hatred. She was a primary figure in the creation of Sanctuary, a realm existing between the High Heavens and Burning Hells, where humans dwell. Inarius and Lilith met in the void and fell in love, which was considered an abomination by both angels and demons. Together, they conceived the idea of creating a new world, a sanctuary where angels, demons, and humans could coexist in balance and harmony. They named this world Sanctuary and became its primary architects. Inarius and Lilith used their immense powers to shape Sanctuary and created the Worldstone, a powerful artifact that could conceal the existence of Sanctuary from the High Heavens and Burning Hells. The Worldstone also ensured that the power of humans would remain hidden, preventing the eternal conflict from spilling into Sanctuary. However, over time, Inarius and Lilith's vision for Sanctuary diverged. Inarius sought to control and manipulate humanity, while Lilith believed in their inherent freedom and potential. This disagreement led to a bitter conflict between them, known as the Edyrem War. Inarius eventually won the war and imprisoned Lilith within the Void. He also corrupted the Worldstone, which had unintended consequences on humanity, weakening their powers and suppressing their potential. Inarius established the secretive angelic order known as the Cathedral of Light to oversee humanity in Sanctuary.

This is quickly becoming one of my favorite reaction channels, was not expecting this treat today! This is by far one of my favorite games ever since I was a kid, so excited to play this one! Little bit of background, the angel is named Inarius and the demon lady is Lilith. Hell and Heaven are locked in an eternal war, but these two got tired of it and both secretly left to create their own world away from the war, a world they called Sanctuary. They had children together (which is where humanity came from) and then things went sour. Lilith got imprisoned in a void and was summoned back in that first cinematic and now she wants to protect Sanctuary and her "children" from Heaven and Hell, but in a sick and demented way. Inarius wants to kill Lillith and her army in hopes that will put him back in the Angel's good graces so they will allow him to come back to Heaven. There's obviously a lot more to it but that's the gist of it!

Something worth adding is why things went sour: the first humans were called Nephalem and they were incredibly powerful beings, capable of surpassing both angels and demons in power. Inarius and all of his followers, both angelic and demonic, feared the Nephalem and their power, so they resolved that they had to be either destroyed or managed. Lilith raged at this and destroyed ALL of the angels and demons that had followed her and Inarius into exile. Still, Inarius could not bear to kill her, so he cast her into the Void and then made sure that the successive generations of nephalem would slowly lose their power and become mortal. When Heaven and Hell became aware of all this Mephisto, the head-honcho of Hell, negotiated a truce with Heaven: they would get to decide what to do with Sanctuary if they handed over Inarius to him, so that he could be punished for his betrayal and for imprisoning his daughter LIlith (Mephisto is the Lord of Hatred, which is why Lilith is called the Daughter of Hatred). Heaven accepted and Sanctuary was barely spared from destruction, while Inarius spent thousands an thousands of years in Hell tortured by Mephisto.

The ground rumbling beneath him in the 2nd cinematic is not from the weight of him its due to opposites reject each other. He being an angel of the high heavens and the ground being on hell itself, so he uses his angelic wings to anchor himself.

I've been playing the game for a few days now in Early Access. There are lots of great cinematics and cut scenes as you play through the campaign. It's sort of like playing a game and watching a movie at the same time, but you're participating as a character in the movie. It's amazing.

A little Background from a hardcore Diablo Player, Lillith is called the Daughter of Hatred because she is the Daughter of Mephisto the Lord of Hatred, Inarius is an Angel seeking to regain his place in the Heavens, they both had a son together called Rathma, In order of Greater Evils there are 3 Diablo the Lord of Terror being the Strongest, Baal the Lord of Destruction and Finally Mephisto the Lord of Hatred, Also there are 4 known Lesser Evils, Andariel, Duriel, Belial, and Azmodan

That's how I felt the first time watching all the Elderscrolls online trailers, so awesome... Big Skyrim fan and these trailers are today still some of the coolest I have seen, sadly when I bought the game and hoped for an online Skyrim, it didn't match my expectations, but the story in the trailer is like a whole movie, if you haven't seen them, hope you will😊😊😊

the story behind this cinematics is actually about an old divorced couple fighting over custody archangel Inarius and demon princess Lilith fall in love and run away from heaven and hell. they made "earth" and give birth to humans. but later they broke up and now they fighting over the fate of human souls btw diablo 2&3 also have fun cinematics
