I remember read that Nintendo take down an emulator app because they paywalled a copyrighted assets (which is their code). Just because you add more stuff, GoE still fundamentally use copyright assets as the base unless GoE recreated every new asset from scratch, which is unlikely and can also become another legal problem. I never see or hear that GoE have any license from Fromsoft themself so yeah, if they come to GoE, he is cooked. This is why most mod like Convergence, they put it for free and all income are through donation. This is how they dodge all legal consequences and less likely to get shot by a lawsuit because the mods are technically unprofitable and free for public.

I don't understand how Garden of Eyes hasn't been squashed by Fromsoft/whoever else yet. You can't sell mods for a game you don't own. It is not GoE's intellectual property to monetize, and puts other mods in jeopardy of being taken down as a result of his greed. GoE has tried to hide this by changing their channel name, as they were formerly known first as Sanadsk, and even earlier as Omegafantasy, respectively. They have stolen content and bullied people off various platforms and underpaid people to make mods for him, and gaslit people when accused of wrongdoing. As cool as GoE's stuff looks, it is not worth supporting and therefore condoning bad their behaviour, especially when it's still very much easily discoverable. I don't think Asmon knows or cares, but GoE is paywalled when it shouldn't be. The mod author went by another name, Sanadsk. He's had a controversial history for stealing and plagiarizing from other mod authors and scamming his fans. He even sponsored a rune selling site on one his videos recently, that alone should tell you a lot about this person. His Garden of Eyes overhaul mod paywalled through his patreon. Since he's using copyrighted assets (including from other FromSoftware games like Bloodborne, Sekiro, Dark Souls) which is considered illegal. To how he keeps getting away with this is beyond my comprehension, maybe Bamco or FromSoftware don't know or don't care. Point is, Asmon played Archthrone's demo and that mod was FREE and will remain that way once its finished. Convergence is FREE and still getting updated with awesome boss designs. Reforged is also FREE. Sanadsk will NEVER make Garden of Eyes free, no matter what he promises. Early access doesn't equal to having a paywall. He could easily suggest to donate like most mod authors would do and that would've been fine. Honestly, if he just took down the paywall and stop trying to scam his fans, Garden of Eyes would be a decent overhaul mod to play, since he ported over assets from other games, including bosses. I do like some of his weapon changes, but I heard there are balancing issues with his mods. I'll admit one thing is that at least he puts in effort to make something cool like what's showcased in this video. That is the only positive thing I can say about Garden of Eyes. As someone who was browsing Nexus randomly and found a Skyrim mod that added a whole region of Tamriel that only had 100 endorsements at the time, I concur. Summerset Isle btw, if anyone's curious. Adds the homeland of high elves complete with dungeons, towns, voiced NPCs, treasures, & 180 quests. Easily as large as TES games usually are vanilla. It's got 1700 endorsements now, still tiny compared to the sheer scale of it. Not that I've played it yet.

ruined the artistic aspect of both malenia and her signature fighting stile as flowing waters, radahn was always the strongest demi god so malenia as the promissed consort makes no sense, the move sets doesnt look like a god, looks like a weird monster which takes off the feeling that you are fighting against a legend, and the choice of radahn as the promissed consort had some weird feeling about it because it was gay and he was his brother, not talking about the contrast of miquelas age and radahn interests once radahn would never want a age of peace since he had passion for war, showing us his age was not all that good, if someone hired that dude for their company they would have major issues once he doesnt understand the directors vision not by a single bit.

Unpopular opinion, but man, do I hate these mods. Their just too gawdy, the over the top anime moves give me a headache and often times just don't work mechanically. I mean, it's fine, its a mod, no one is forcing me to play it, but the more popular these become, the more Fromsoft will start copying them. And in the ER dlc I definitely felt like Fromsoft was trying to replicate these types of mods. It wasn't bad, I can handle a few obnoxious anime weapons and one screen blinding boss, but I just fear that it's going to eventually become the norm.

Imagine pay walling a friggin' mod. Call me whatever you like but I hope they see repercussions for doing that. We all deal with enough corporate greed in our daily lives as is, I ain't tryna get milked dry by the community either. Edit: It's an entirely different story if the mod were free but they had a link to a p*treon or whatever because then any love and support for the mod could optionally go towards financially supporting them but they'd rather get greedy with it.

Modding is and has always been a community driven thing, for the love and passion of the game. Everyone's time is valuable and should be respected but taking someone else's work and trying to repackage it to sell it is just lame. That's exactly what that mod is, taking FS's assets and paywalling what they've recreated with them. I call that scum behavior. I'm all for supporting modders because they do it for free but I'm under the impression they do it for the passion and love of the game with making money being secondary, hence why it's way easier of a pill to swallow if it's not mandatory. It's a mod bro, not the original product.

Mechanically it's an amazing mod. The cutscenes, new move animations and flow of battle are all awesome. It doesn't make any sense with the established lore though. Malenia is an Empyrean, which means she is just as eligible as her brother Miquella and half sister Ranni to become a God. She's not just a powerful Demigod to be picked as a Consort. She is already under the influence of the Outer God of Rot. On top of that, this mod's lore is pushing the incest over the Lannister cliff by having Malenia become her twin brother's Consort. Other than those issues and the fact that this mod is monetized I loved both phases of the fight and the art design for Malenia.

Garden of Eyes has been at it for a long time, dissecting and splicing assets in Fromsoft titles. They've so many hours you can burn in videos of them pitting bosses against one another in monster fight compilations. Like Malenia vs bosses, Isshin vs bosses, Orphan of Kos vs bosses, etc.

Im honestly most impressed about the music. They managed to mix together all the memorable parts of Mohg's and Malenia's themes as well as the parts of PCR's theme that are clearly meant to represent Miquella and made it sound good despite the fundamentally different tones. It gets a little stale in the 2nd phase and while a nice touch, the intro during the cutscene doesnt fit a 100% to the cutscene and the continuation, but overall it gets very close to the level of the default PCR music.
