Something was wrong with Skorpios’ hammersaw in the opening seconds. Skorpios put Ribbot in a near perfect position to strike down, but for some reason, the hammersaw didn’t spin up properly. (Keep in mind, this was before Ribbot cut off the chain)

I know the SawBlaze one was more for "fun", but also because fans wanted to see it. I saw the Swordios preview on their KZbin channel, and while it sounded neat, I didn't realize they never fought SB before as themselves, so to have this finally happen and decide to do the sword instead of a future fight...I admit I wish it waited, awesome and hyped as I was. But even SawBlaze was aware of this pre-fight (they were there for the poll!), so if both teams were okay with it, nothing you can really do. I'm sure there will be a next time; These two don't seem near retirement yet! ;D And who knows, maybe there will be a grudge match in brackets! I think both will make it (SB will for sure, with that 3:1 streak). *hint, hint, BattleBots*

Two great teams. Don't normally see Skorpios beat up like that. They are always imo a top contender to win it all. If they fought Ribbot a second time its likely the match would be completely different, as is the nature of bots that can switch out pieces. Would be interesting who wins when they fight again.

Ribbot took advantage of Skorpios's weaknesses, and Skorpios didn't take advantage of Ribbot's. In the end, it came down to driving, and the corner was the wrong place for Skorpios. Ribbot's weapon is the kind that doesn't want to run headfirst into the screws, and its wedge (in this fight, at least) is the kind that gets stuck on the killsaw grooves, but its weapon was just much more robust, and four wheels out-push two wheels in the corners.

Idk if this is really your fight of the week when RotatoR vs. Fusion is in the mix. Scorpios' weapon was down from the start of the match and never got spun up to a damaging speed. I'll admit though control wise it was a clean fight for sure.

After this impressive display from Ribbot, I'm now starting to question Skorpios tournament prospects. Yeah, it got that knockout win over Jackpot, but it was losing it's fight with Big Dill, until Big Dill went kaput, and it's last two losses.... have kinda been disasters. If it does still make the cut, I think it will get a lower seed than perhaps many of us would've expected.

I believe they are trying to find their new ground with their armor / magnet / wedges .. The major issue for me is whoever is controlling the weapon is OFF TIMING most of the time .. Someone else can do better than that.. They don't seem confident in it and it shows in the driving aswell !

@@TheTrooperMB Diana is the one controlling the weapon, she has been doing it since like season 2 of the reboot (with the OG saw Skorpios when it was still captained by Orion Beach), so I don't think it's a control issue. They did change a lot of the bot internals for this season so maybe the motors have some torque/clutch issues that cause it to get going a bit slower.

I loved this fight. Even though Zack guessed right for Ribbot's weapon, they dominated Skorpios. And Skorpios made a big mistake going weapon on weapon. That made their weapon chain fall off. And a slight driving mistake by Zack made Ribbot tear its tires off.

Not gonna lie, I am a little disappointed in skorpios. They always tend to struggle against verts but with verts making up a good portion of the field, how is skorpios suppose to compete? I don't want skorpios to copy sawblaze either, I mean the setup they used against cobalt in 2022 re-mars seemed fine (even tho they lost). This fight wasn't even close too, they were dominated by a frog. Their 2-2 record does seem weak, but I'm hoping they can still make the bracket and somewhat redeem themselves to show why they are my most respected bot & 2nd favorite. And ribbot (along with big dill last week) avoided joining the 0-4 club

Pretty disappointing season for both bots so far, but I was really expecting Skorpios to take this one without too much trouble. If only Diana hadn't dropped the weapon right into Ribbot's spinner on the first shot this could have been a very different fight. They should still get into the Round of 32 at 2-2 but with a pretty low seed, meanwhile I have doubts over whether Ribbot will be in at all even with this win on their record.

Comeback? Ribbot made sure to stay perfectly lined up after losing the pushing war, so that skorpios' only place to hit with their virt would be a weapon to weapon hit, which the more solid mounting of ribbot had an advantage against (personally I see skorpios using the weapon there as a mistake). At 4:31 you can immediately see the chain come lose. "skorpios draws first blood" on a weapon to weapon hit is also not the best commentary, but they're trying their best. After that first bit of ploughing it was all ribbot.

I think when Scorpios hit Ribbot's weapon at the start, Ribbot's weapon actually caused the chain to come loose on Scorpios as you can see the weapon barely spin for the second hit Edit: you can actually see the chain snap after the first hit.

It was because that "sting" desain has disanvantage with the chain system which is easy to broken being hit by that kind of vertical spinning weapon. Secondly, I think the Scorpio is unstable to walk on. That bot easy to fall behind, due to short body. They should improve their bot with more long body, or added more heavy weigh wedge on front, so that bot more stable when walking.
