Brings back memories. I had one of those back in the 1980's I called it Morning Cloud. CZ users wil; know why. Always remember being shocked at the rusty levers in the gearbox, when the bike was new. Truly terrible quality control. Thankfully a friend was an engineer with enough know how to fabricate replica parts out of decent metal. We almost rebuilt the gearbox and clutch for fun. Then the simple design just kept on going and going. When I sold it 20 years later (yes, twenty), it had been upgraded and changed so much. New wheels and front disc brake. New shape seat and tank, new 12v electrics. I even changed engines midway to 175cc. Probably still running today, slow and steady.

Oh, that brings back some memories! - I had one when I was 17. The noise reminds me of some very fine days spent on it.

For people, who don't understand, why is it Jawa/ČZ: Jawa and ČZ are communistical czechoslovak bikes. I am from Slovakia. In communist czechoslovakia jawa and ČZ WERE two different brands. Then they were one company for a while - Jawa/ČZ. When we changed to capitalism in 1989, we were czechoslovakia for a while but few years later we have broke to czechia and Slovakia. After broke Jawa sold licention to India (modern Jawa) an ČZ was bought by Japanese Kajiwa. Sorry for english :)

Brilliant! This was my second bike after a Honda C50L. Mine developed faulty electrics but I loved it all the same.

Mine was a 1974 model with the pozilube system. Generally a reliable machine but because of the strong spring on the pozilube it ate throttle cables. Always had a new one taped in beside the old to swap when the throttle end splayed and jammed (usually at full throttle) or snapped. Always had a chuckle when the other riders in the group couldn't id the Gear/kickstart lever. "Hey wadda ya do push it?"

That was my first bike. Damn I miss it (nothing like the smell of a two-stroke warming up !!!).

I had one when I was 17 in 1987-8 Really bad quality build...the brakes were lethal in the wet and the headlight bracket just fell off going down a bumpy dark country lane one night leaving me in pitch darkness. I put some red go faster stripes on it even though it would barely go uphill and outright refused to go uphill with girlfriend on back. She'd have to get off and walk up. Which was somewhat embarrassing. Still.. fond memories.

That was my first bike, 1988 I loved how the kickstart was also the gears, I had it for two years and had to replace the shaft of the gear/kickstart 3X I don’t know why it was the first to go when I either crashed it or dropped it I was doing dangerous tricks at the time but it was one of my best bikes, 125cc but felt like 500cc on the road or air lol

I have to replace the broken rear engine cradle on my son's 1986 CZ 125-488 which is a serious hastle on any CZ, as anybody who's ever tried to replace the swinging arm bushes will testify. If the baffle is put in backwards CZs become very slow and lack top end power. Most of the CZs I've bought over the past 3 decades have had the baffles in backwards. The correct way round is to have the hole end at the back and the flat end at the front on the large baffle section otherwise the exhaust sections don't line up and the gases can't escape. I've had 70+ MPH out of several CZ 125 bikes over the years. On the old CZ 125-476 remove the metal power restrictor pipe in the airbox under the airfilter element.

+flip inheck Excuse me, but just because some components are interchangeable, so it would not appoint different name.One example: Aprilia engines used Suzuki RGV and TL -named then that Mark might Apriliasuzuki ?? Companies Jawa and CZ are from my country, I grew up to them from childhood. Brand JAWA and CZ are two different factories, with different histories. R.I.P. CZ,Jawa is still alive, but it is not a Jawa ...
@josefmojito9 жыл бұрын
+flip inheck ha ha, what was the Twin? There's 250,350 same motorcycle Jawa / CZ, it is nonsense. The problem is that you do not original.In original version that is completely different: D. Otherwise, the first V twin Aprilia is were from Suzuki. That they were twins as you should?

+flip inheck Very good.Im had only export types (CZ) Two 477/7 .And two 350cc Californian Oilmaster and last CZ 350,type 472/6 of 89 y. This type of 485-it's only for export, the engine is it of the very old model CZ 455 and the frame and other parts of the CZ 350 / 472.1; or 5. But Jawa parts-nothing.Jawa had other parts.We believe that for us we know 99.9% of the models that were intended for export.
@josefmojito9 жыл бұрын
+flip inheck Jawa type 385 ?? Jawa 385 might be the type who edited a local importer, but officially it is not the type of Jawa-neither import nor export.But CZ frame and rear swingarm(?) were better than had Jawa-not twist in turns
@josefmojito9 жыл бұрын
+flip inheck How do you know that this is the 385 model? Do you have a photo of the motorcycle, you can paste it here? Thanks
