ڈاکٹر اسرار احمد ایک ممتاز پاکستانی مسلمان سکالر تھے، جو پاکستان، بھارت، مشرق وسطیٰ اور امریکہ میں اپنا دائرہ اثر رکھتے تھے۔ آپ بھارت کے ضلع ہریانہ میں مؤرخہ 26 اپریل 1932ء کو پیدا ہوئے۔
آپ تنظیم اسلامی کے بانی تھے، جو پاکستان میں نظام خلافت کے قیام کی خواہاں ہے۔ تنظیم اسلامی کا مرکزی
ہیڈکوارٹر لاہور، پاکستان میں واقع ہے۔
تنظیم اسلامی کی تشکیل کے بعد آپ نے اپنی تمام توانائیاں تحقیق و اشاعت اسلام کے لۓ وقف کردی تھیں. آپ نے 100 سے زائد کتب تحریر کیں جن میں سے کئی کا دوسری زبانوں میں بھی ترجمہ ہوچکا ہے۔ آپ نے ‍قرآن کریم کی تفسیر اور سیرت نبوی صلی اللہ علیہ و آلہ و سلم پر کئی جامع کتابیں تصنیف کیں. مشہور بھارتی مسلم اسکالر ڈاکٹر ذاکر نائیک سے ان کے قریبی تعلقات تھے اسی ضمن میں انہوں نے بھارت کے کئی دورے بھی کئے. عالمی سطح پر آپ نے مفسر قران کی حیثیت سے زبردست شہرت حاصل کی. بلا مبالغہ ان کے سیکڑوں آڈیو ، ویڈیو لیکچرز موجود ہیں جن کے دنیا کی کئی زبانوں میں تراجم ہوچکے ہیں. بلاشبہ یہ کہا جاسکتا ہے کہ انہوں نے اسلام کا صحیح تشخص ابھارنے میں وہ اہم ترین کردار ادا کیا جو تاریخ میں کبھی فراموش نہیں کیا جاسکے گا.
