I'm as non religious as can be, and this I still love this. The amount of knowledge and skill it takes to improvise chords and melodies to sync up with the emotional peaks and dips of the vocalist is nothing short of incredible. It's a shame this corner of the musical world gets so overlooked by people outside of Christianity: there's so much passion and talent behind so much of this stuff.
@NathanAMeyers5 жыл бұрын
Agreed - and the sad thing about it too is that these musicians aren't recognized for their hard work and talent, they are recognized for their "spiritual gifts", "all glory to god"
@sanders_billy5 жыл бұрын
@@NathanAMeyers I feel like it's always just a two-way street. While yes, they may be gifts from God, you don't get those gifts from just sitting on your ass--you actually have to go out and work for it
@NathanAMeyers5 жыл бұрын
@@sanders_billy You might be able to argue that the passion comes from God, but so long as "gifts" really just exist as "I worked hard for this", the reality is that God had no part in it.

@@gregsneathern7940 Bro you sound like you are part of the problem i am stating facts that our black church is way off course exchanging entertainment for truly praising God. I see it all the time. i have been to a lot musicals where there is a crowd around the musicians ooh and aah and no clue what the preacher was preaching about. You can see it all over the internet. Corey Henry. Sharay Reed Justin Rains the list goes on and on where people mostly go to hear the musicians play the really hip chords and solos. I know because I play for my church and i see all the nonsense going on. So i am not coming from the outside looking in. I am just honest and speaking up. @@cgreen2984I aways get something from a sermon whether it's encouragement , correction, warning, or affirmation and the mere fact you reading it for yourself should add some value to you that changes my perception all the time. The scriptures says bless is he who reads you know the rest. Preachers are not entertainers they must proclaim the truth of God's word with conviction , zeal and passion and never compromise. Celebration is a must because we know the end of the story .

Yes. I know that a lot of preachers like this and I never play behind preachers for that reason. I hear so many people playing the organ this way and I suppose it's what that Pastor desires but I can't understand them, and I refuse to "amen" what I did not even hear. I was in a service one time and a guest preacher came with his musicians and a lot of his congregation. Everything was getting all cranked up on the organ and it was sounding like this and I could not understand anything he said but some people from that congregation that sat beside me were jumping up and down and so I asked them, "What did he say?" The woman said, "I don't know- I couldn't hear him... But THAT'S MY BISHOOOOPPP! PREACH BISHOP!" 😞

I'm so thankful at our assembly we have praise services, choir and all before the word of God goes forth...the word of God is our food and God expects us to eat that food. Jesus said " And ye shall know the "TRUTH"( The word of God) and the TRUTH shall make you free"..in other words, only Gods word can make us free..its that powerful. And it's Satan's trick to cause us not to focus on it and hear it, because the word of God is God Himself..( St. John 1:1) we must reverence the word of God..its what we will all be judged by when we stand before Him. Jesus is soon to return and we must do it like Jesus( the Judge) sis to do things...DECENTLY and in order...praise the Name of Jesus!!
