Speak loudly Jamrock...! You are on point.. although it’s great that young people are in church... but the focus MUST be on the Word..not the music..especially not a jam session. Like the train’s mode of power is the Locomotive (preached Word in the Service), the music is like the caboose and provides more of a support role to the train system. Musicians....know your role in the service!
@lindley56535 жыл бұрын
Not saying that your view is wrong being both a minister and Musician, I know the worship from both points of view and it’s like a good singer, once you’re in the spirit, everything and everyone around you isn’t what you’re concerned about. It’s that worship that starts to testify on its own.
@B3burner5 жыл бұрын
I don't need to thump no damn bible. Just give me the frickin' B-3 and that's all I need. Sorry but I got to disagree with you all. This nonsense about the musician taking a back seat and merely being a conveyance of some higher meaning.... what a bunch of cr*p. If you got talent, flaunt it. It ain't bragging or showboating, if you got the skills. And there's nothing wrong with a 20 minute jam session.... Leslies spinning like jet turbines on a Southwest Airlines 737 that's late for take off. Organist's hands all shakin' on the keys like a paint mixer at the Home Depot. I will never be ashamed of putting the music first and above all else and above all others... because that's who I am as a person. And if I want to stroke my own ego... while taking an organ solo... then that's what I'm going to do. And everyone around me is going to listen and take notice... whether they want to or not! And it's not selfish... it's called self preservation. If you don't put yourself first.... no one else is going to do it for you. You people must have all hit your head on something semi-hard on the way down, and lost your ability to jump up and down for joy and let musicians be musicians. That whole "hold back" and "be humble" thing is like waaaay overrated. As a musician and an aficionado of all things B-3 since I was young... I approve of all shout organists who take over the place and light it up. That's what it's all about. Never ever listen to those people who complain that people who pay too much attention to the organ are missing the more important things in life. I call bullshit! There IS nothing more important than the mutherf*ckin' Hammond B-3!!!!!!!!!!! Never has been, never will be! Rant over... the B3 Burner is out!

Yes, it's a MO8. With the prices where they are you could get a used MOX or MOXF which would have some newer sounds in it as well. One big improvement is 8-parts per sound instead of 4-parts in the MO8. More FX too. But no faders, just knobs. Used Motifs have the faders though. Might be able to find a Motif ES8 which would be the big brother to the MO8 fairly cheap too. Motif XS8 and XF8 are more expensive being newer, but the XS8 matches with the MOX and the XF8 matches up to the MOXF in terms of generation. Have fun!

Does this church always play to drum tracks on bumps?
@kenfcarzn5 жыл бұрын
Mark Landes It’s not necessary, but it adds other elements that you don’t otherwise have. Back in the day you only had an organist and drummer. Now we have 5 piece bands. So to treat a drum track as less than is to say that those other instruments aren’t necessary. 1 it takes lots of energy to play Praise Breaks On drums, 2 it helps the drummer stay locked into a steady tempo where he or she would either speed up or slow down. 3 It makes it sound fuller. We should always give God our best. Now I feel like this was forced and not Holy Spirit inspired.
