Can I just say that there were lots of moments on this video when you guys made me laugh out loud. I say that as a total compliment. Your rapport with each other is part of why I LOVE your show! Jason, your line: "Steve is more graceful than Wonder Woman..." was hilarious! Also, can I just say that this movie just made me so overwhelmed with emotions that just hearing you guys reflect on it brought tears during the moments which were tear-jerker moments. This movie is simply amazing! Doesn't matter that there were some little moments of imperfection. That just makes the movie that much more endearing, wouldn't you say? I loved the characters, the story, the music, and the overall experience. I have seen it five times now, and I really wanna see it again. Thinking about catching the 4DX version. Already watched it on regular 2D and 3D IMAX. You guys rock! Thank you!

The practical approach of Ares planting seeds of War instead of him feeding of War was a nice approach. Ares was the mastermind who used Ludendorff and Dr. Marau as tools for his own bidding.
@kws25347 жыл бұрын
My absolute favorite part was after she spared Maru and she tells Ares, in regards to mankind, "They're everything you said they are...but they are so much more!" and "It's not about deserve. It's about what you believe." I had previously thought that the No Man's Land sequence was the moment Diana became Wonder Woman but it's THAT moment instead. Yes, mankind is flawed, we are undeserving of salvation, but she still will save and love everyone because she believes we are worthy. She becomes the spirit of compassion right then and truly becomes Wonder Woman.

Maybe it's just me- but watching BVS after seeing Wonder Woman adds so much more context to the character's scenes in that film. When she rolls her eyes after Lex comments in his speech at the party about Zeus striking someone down with a lightning bolt- I so wanted her to interject "Dude- that's my dad". It adds to the emotion behind her voice when she alludes to the photo while talking with Bruce, the expression on her face when she's looking at a copy of the photo Bruce sent her on the computer and of course when she alludes to "killing things from other worlds before" to Batman and Superman while fighting Doomsday.

amazo88 that would be a big plothole since only 2 people in old time know who she really is, Steve and Sir Patrick(Ares). Chief, Charlie snd Sammir only knows her as "the warrior from a mysterious island who only inhabited by women".

I wasn't really surprised by David Thewlis character as I predicted who he was but the one thing that surprised me was that seeing Diana also having that same kind of rage that Ares has and somehow in my mind I felt she had to be related to him and when she said Brother that summed it up.
@munchmagic087 жыл бұрын
For me, Ares both worked and didn't work. He didn't really work as the usual Act 3 villain fight (although, some of that fight was pretty awesome), but his dialogue and viewpoints work brilliantly with both Diana and Steves and how they view the world. His speech to her, followed up by Steves goodbye speech (along with what she had been told about mankind by the Amazons) worked great together to help Diana make her decision on whether mankind deserved to continue despite their huge flawed nature. Also, credit to Allan Heinberg on the screenplay, some fantastic dialogue in the movie.

Wonder Woman is a fantastic film. My favorite scene was No Man's Land as well. I love the "baby" scene and for some reason even though I knew the film was set during war, I didn't think they would touch on the politics of war, which had me pleasantly surprised. I loved it.

Great review as usual guys! Ashley, I teared up at the end when you were talking about tearing up. Ha! I cried several times during the movie, mostly out of relief. Relief that there was an amazing movie unfolding for one. But so much more importantly, relief that in my lifetime I finally got to see her, big as life, on the big screen. Telling her own story. Going on her own journey. I've been a comic fan and a big ol nerd for almost 50 years. I've waited so long to see a woman kicking ass and being heroic. Yes, there've been plenty on the small screen - not minimizing that at all - but this is different. This is the big leagues. Thanks so much for your thoughtful review! Ok, gotta go. Time to see it again.

Yeah, it had such a "Venom" vibe didn't it? Only thing that would have cemented that would be Luddendorf growing muscles or increasing in mass. It was scary whenever he took the gas! And also, I'd love for them to bring together some of the other "mad scientists" from the DC Universe: T.O. Morrow Thadeus Sivana Ultrahumanite and the like...

As a hardcore WW, I was so pleased with this movie. While the third act I have issues with, along with Ares' motivation(I'll get to that, shortly), this movie was just a ton of fun. Gal Gadot, I was iffy on her when it came to BVS, but she really pulled through and I can see her as WW. Her accent was a bit thick, but I honestly think her ability to emote/ express curiousity and naivete really sold me. The sequence with No Man's Land and her chewing out the generals, I was like THAT is Diana. Chris Prine was excellent as Steve Trevor and the two had chemistry. See, Thor? This is how you have two actors have chemistry and form a believable romance. That said, the third act was a bit rushed. Thematically, it held steam, but the payoffs seemed rushed. As for Ares, don't get me wrong; I LOVE how Ares was basically the devil in the ear. That was smart as it helped strengthen the theme of the movie. But him hating humans, I never got that. WHY? Ares would love seeing humans fight and tear each other apart. Other than that though, this movie was a ton of fun. It is the best DCEU film and really I hope it gets better from here.

I liked the Scotsman, didn't think he was useless. I think for him to admit and then overcome his weakness to back them up against luddendorf showed real strength of character. And honestly, I appreciate a scarred soldier, ESPECIALLY in WWI. This movie definitely didn't have to go that route, this is a complicated character with a lot of depth. It's amazing, considering he has about 10 min screen time, including the group shots.

My counter-argument to Jason's "she's in a war zone" is that she was in a war zone when she firmly believed all this coldblooded craziness was because of Ares. The killing doesn't ruin the movie for me at all. But I believe people can be allowed to hold Diana to a higher standard and expect her to figure out a way to save as many lives as she should believe save-able. I wouldn't say that's hypocritical. I love her and it feels good to mean it without sounding cheesy or hyperbolic.

@ChaseYu7 жыл бұрын
everyone talked about how the ending was a twist like Iron Man 3! And I just think that it is stupid to think in such a way, for 1 it didn't build up like that, and 2 it is mostly just people who read the info from the web before they go to watch the movie and decided it that the German general is Ares ( I mean that's pretty much just a prejudge from everyone). Diana was pretty naive the first half of the movie (or at least 80% of the time) so that her thought was simple, the army guy who made poison gas to kill people and won't stop the war must be the one she's after. But how the hell is most people just as naive ( or ignorant ) as her, and then considering the ending was a twist ( I mean no one ever mentioned that the German guy is Ares, it is only Diana herself thought that he is).

Ares is certainly not a better than the Marvel villains. He was hardly in the movie. As a matte of fact, for all of the crap talked about Marvel villains, not only are most of them well done, they are eons better than the DECU villains so far. Jesse Eisenburg was not intimidating he was annoying. And Zod, Doomsday, Enchantress' brother and the bad guys in WW are all 1 dimensional. Red Skull, Loki, Zemo, Ultron, Abomination and others are great bad guys.
@Devilleonx7 жыл бұрын
Tim Terrell actually zods a great villain and he's 3 dimensional, Lex luthor good to especially if you watch him as a silver age interpretation of Lex . Most of the Marvel villains do suck minus Loki though I do agree ares isn't better then any of marvels villains .
