You had a fantastic day railfanning in Walton, Kentucky, Jaw Tooth! It was unusual for two of the trains to have a car that had to be set out at Gest Street Yard and while the other train had something "dragging" according to a a defect detector Those two trains slowed the speed of the trains following them because of the slow speed restrictions placed on the two "defective" trains. That was a great catch of the Norfolk Southern Wabash Heritage Unit on the front of the empty gondola train that appeared at 13:11. You also caught the loaded gondola train which appeared at 22:06 after coming across the Norfolk Southern bridge over the CSX Short Line tracks to Louisville, Kentucky via LaGrange. Kentucky. One of these days you havened to catch the southbound gondola train where you can view the gondola train from above so we can see what is in the gondola cars. Thank you for documenting these trains and uploading them for your subscribers to enjoy! (Post 6 July 2024 at 2303 CDT.)

I always grin when the engineers give you a toot. I imagine you do, too. I had my "sounds out of the ordinary" ears on for that first train. I didn't hear any cars that sounded off a little. I wonder why they had to set it off? We'll never know. The sounds are how I can always tell empty autoracks. There is a sort of "empty drumming" sound that loaded cars with weight on the platforms can't have. Well, that and headphones. 😉 Good trains as usual, JT and you caught the Wabash Cannonball!

Man that Wabash unit was awesome! Definitely a rare catch! And about the old haunted Gains house, if those walls could talk, the stories that house could tell would be amazing. Plus it’d be interesting to do a paranormal investigation there. Also a house doesn’t have to be old to be haunted, and a house doesn’t become haunted magically when it becomes so old. That’s all just kids story telling theory lol. As a professional paranormal investigator a new house can become haunted the day it’s finished being built, if there is paranormal activity attached to the land it’s being built on. I’ve actually seen multiple cases of this. It’s energy, that spirits can use. If there’s a good energy source in a house, or on a specific piece of land, then spirits can inhabit the house or land for the energy source. Regardless of how old or young the house is. Typically hauntings are factored by the energy that’s there. If a house or land has seen large amounts of torment and violence, that leaves a large amount of that energy, which the spirits involved, will typically be strong, intelligent spirits. Spirits don’t have to have a house to be in. They can just inhabit the land. If the energy is there that’s all they need. Perfect example is the battlefields of Gettysburg PA. That is probably one of the most haunted acres of land in the eastern United States. But look at the type of energy left there. It’s full of violence and bloodshed, since a literal war was fought there, and thousands and thousands of soldiers and civilians died there in a matter of a few days. Perfect recipe for an area to be haunted. And when a haunted house is torn down, the spirits just remain on the land typically, since the energy that was in the house has then been released the land. The energy doesn’t go anywhere, and the spirits don’t either. If a new house or building is built on the same land, then that house or building is immediately haunted by the same spirits. Sorry for the long comment lol but I wanted to answer your questions. If it does or doesn’t make any sense, but I’m my opinion no professional answer is a short answer.

Thanks for the spectacular video, JT! Lots of great trains and scenery. I enjoyed the close-up of your horse, too! A question for you: does a flange greaser sit about even with the top of the rail? There is something on the tracks north of my house that has what I described, with a solar panel to recharge batteries, I'm guessing. Would it be a flange greaser? Thanks! I pray you have a safe and successful week ahead, my friend. Please tell your family and pets I said hello. I'll chat with you later. 😃😃😃😃😃😃❤❤❤❤❤❤
@JawTooth2 ай бұрын
You will see the grease on the ground in the track if it is. They will also had a mat laying in the track to catch the grease . The flange greaser is a big box with small hoses coming out of it that go to the rails

Yes, I got hit with a tick this year too and with the anti-biotics, it left me drained! There seems to be a blight of them al over the Northern hemisphere. You look after yourself, JT. They are no joke. The Abner Gains house would sure be a nice house to live in, ghosts or not. I guess the rail-road chiefs have to be careful with the sun being so hot. so maybe worried about either the wheel back-to-backs being a bit stretched on those Container decks or the track getting soft in a corner somewhere, maybe.. The way your horse was stamping, was not happy about the dogs being there. You might want to have his hooves looked at, unless that's a regular thing. Man, I hate having to go to the dentist too, but I have top and bottom plates re-made as my gums have shrunk back a bit. Take care out in that heat and stay safe. Thanks for catching a decent look at the Wabash unit, one we've missed a couple of times now. I spotted something haning from an old loooking gondola but it wasn't dragging on the ties. Hoping all the family are well and keeping in good health yourself. Take care and thanks again. Cheers!

I like to picture it as compared to water trucks. When I was a health inspector we had to inspect water trucks once a year. They carried between 1,800 gallons up to 2,200 gallons per truck. They were used for people who have cisterns and needed drinking water. So I always try to imagine how many water trucks are in a tank car. Like you said it depends on the size of tank car and the product
