Always love an EOT DPU. The helicopter up here for clearing power lines uses a multi gang series of circular saws. Either way it's some spendy action. Back in the 70s the Milwaukee Road sprayed everything around the tracks with surplus agent orange. It killed everything out to one hundred feet and lasted about five years. Cool video, thanks JT!

That was a good one! Awesome live action going on. A few years ago I was coming home one afternoon and about 5 minutes from my house there was a helicopter with a saw like that one cutting limbs along the power lines. That takes a lot of skill on the part of the pilot to control the helicopter and the saw at the same time! Thanks for the video. But wait I bet there is more to come🚁

Glad you enjoyed it! Thanks for the gas money Mark! That really helps a lot! The jaw, I don't know. It's uncomfortable but not hurting as much today at least not yet. Yesterday when I was filming I was talking to the railfans and when I start talking it gets to hurting. I had someone comment saying it takes about 6 months to heal. The doctors never told me that. Anyway, thanks for your support!

Hi JT very cool video. Did you get a count on that first one? Helicopter chain saw very interesting. How long do you estimate that blade to be? I'm thinking about 6 ft. Never would I have believed that a chain saw could be operated from a helicopter. That bird was operated by one heck of a pilot.👍 BTW you said you don't use a drone. Sooo how do you get those aerial shots? Was that last train carrying coal or ballast?

Great video, Jaw Tooth, love the helicopter trimming the trees, that was really neat. You-tube put 20 minutes of ads in the middle of your video, I could not believe it, they have never done that before. That's quite a bit of freight moved there! Yeah, I saw your video with the folks cutting the trees with the helicopter(didn't Mrs JT get that?) Some nice new cars on those consists. Some funky graffiti too. I was puzzled with that last one and all the 5-deck articulates going down the hill on the back of the train, unloaded too. Maybe there's too many decks for some of the curves and the radius needed and available or not to get the longer articulates round them? Worth asking about. A great day trainspotting/Rail-Fanning. All the best JT. Keep safe. Cheers!

Hey JT, they also use those helicopters with those saws on them to trim powerlines and pipelines. They set one of those saws down in my sister‘s yard and left it overnight. You order to see how big the chain is on that thing you wouldn’t believe it how big the teeth are on it, they unhooked it and then they landed the helicopter and left it there overnight too and they paid her a good bit of money to leave that helicopter and that saw there overnight but anyway, my friend another awesome video and Scott was there today before and he caught every train coming up the hill except one that was going down.. Thank you for another railfanning video from Crescent Springs and Erlanger, Kentucky on 25 May 204 with some splendid views of trains on The Hill. The mixed freight trains in this video had a nice variety of freight cars in their consists. The daily southbound steel coil train terminates in Rockport, Indiana. When you mentioned the excavator in the description of the video, I had no idea that the excavator was also a high rail. The operator of the excavator did a quick job of putting the excavator on the rails and moving it to another spot. The helicopter trimming the was fascinating to watch. The pilot of the helicopter must have a lot of practice to do this work. I remember the segment of video that Mrs. Tooth took of the helicopter trimming the trees along the power lines running through your property.
