7:24 a.m. 6°C aquí, despejado. 42°F here, clear. And you are putting me in downtown La Grange at about 9 in the cold evening? I can't handle all this cold, Señor Jaws. I just fired up the DerRobMann electic space heater on the floor next to me to watch your video. Time for you to post your Señor Jaws winter line of night clothes. Put me down for a pair of the Señor Jaws Thermal Jammies with booties, hoodie, and Hawaiin shirt design. Seems like only yesterday we were complaining about the heat. Nice train catch. Santa and La Grange should be proud of your work. I think you just moved into the 'Nice' category for presents. Gracias por tu video. RT sends, Puebla, México.

Blessed December and Seasons Greetings to you, JawTooth! Also, my best wishes to your loving ones, Chessie, Norfie, Brandy, and the other black doggie. That CSX train was a nice one. Pretty lights! Really cool video! Thanks! Much of the MOW machines were carried on long flatcars. I think they used to be "piggyback service" / Trailer-On-Flat-Car (TOFC) flatcars used to carry two long semi-trailers each. Looks like they attached rails on the bed of the cars to carry the MOW equipment. Cool!

For some reason this reminds me of a nightmare I had years back where a stack train with containers stacked *9 high* was rolling through. Impossible in real life as this wouldn't clear any tunnels or any overhead signaling, but there it was in my dream. This train was wobbling badly back and forth and the containers on the top were on the verge of falling off the sides of the train. This actually had me shaking scared when I woke up, despite the absurdity of such a train.

Hello from the UK. I like watching street running and like to see the freight trains that have an interesting mixture of different types of wagons etc. They don't come more mixed and with such a variety as that train, and there was a DPU too! The train running through the street looked even more surreal as it passed through all of the Christmas lights. This was a particularly good catch! Nice video.

JT that was track surfacing equipment, I was a supervisor on that equipment. As a note on the LIRR the operating department wouldn’t allow the MOW department to put standard Janey couplers on our equipment due to work rules . We had European style couplers with bumpers . If we broke down on the main forget about a rescue engine pulling you out lol .

Thank you for documenting this CSX train after the "Light Up LaGrange" celebration in LaGrange, Kentucky, Jaw Tooth! This was a long train and the mid-train DPU was working hard. I am looking forward to the other videos with trains that you captured at LaGrange, Kentucky on 3 December 2022. The maintenance of way equipment at the front on the train was interesting when it went past. Most of the Maintenance of Way equipment was on flat cars except for the ballast cleaning equipment with the CSXT reporting marks of 905061which was such a big piece of equipment that it could not be placed on flat cars. I wonder how CSX personnel remove the Maintenance of Way equipment from the flat cars. Do they put a ramp at one end of the line of flat cars and remove the MOW equipment that way?

I’ve noticed a number of MOW equipment running on CSX lines - not just a few but long lines of MOW equipment and usually individually operated. Here in upstate NY I sat at a rail intersection and watched 38 pieces of equipment and vehicles, each with operators pass by going north towards Albany. I’ve seen the same on various YT cameras covering CSX lines. Seems like a lot of MOW is going on, more than usual perhaps? I wish there was a simply way to tell that! Great video. Thanks, Jaw Tooth.

LaGrange seems like a town populated by mostly hard working, regular folks. Seems like a lot of contrasts in KY from Coal Miner's Daughter folks struggling pay to pay to race horse types in two flavors: friends of British Royals and Tony Soprano types, folks with tons of money and huge houseboats on big lakes and some farmers and big city, Louisville sorts and some whisky makers.
