When my daughter was 7, we took her to North Carolina to ride and experience the Thomas the Tank Engine experience. We got to ride in the cupola of a caboose on that train. My daughter is 21 now and goes to UGA for her college years. Thanks for bringing back some memories for us JT!

I love the whistles on steam trains but that's it. Why are they running Thomas backwards or if you will, longhood forward? Thanks for your support Mark! I really appreciate it. Thomas is going back and forth on the Strasburg line but there is no way to turn the train around. Very nice. I've been on the Strasburg Railroad numerous times (my maternal grandmother lived in Lancaster County), and credit that railroad, along with a certain blue tank engine, with instilling a deep passion for trains and railroads within me.

FYI, the Strassburg RR latest stats says they handled 500 freight car loads last year with an interchange w/Norfolk Southern along the Amtrak line in Paradise (Leaman). Pretty cool.

That Amtrak passenger train was speeding to its next stop on the electrified portion of the Amtrak line.

Very cool! I was hoping that someone would know something about that tractor. When I was little I always wanted to live on a farm. some of my cousins lived on farms and I would visit in the summer. Today I actually own one but I am not a farmer, I don't even have a tractor. I have the only farm in my area without a tractor. Lol. I lease out ground to the farmers. I love watching tractors go by my house.

@@bobcatforever3485 I recently added 8 acres to my farm. It just got in my name last week. I got a one acre parcel just down from my farm and I got 7 more acres the other direction. The 7 acres was advertised as 6 and when they surveyed it I got a free acre. At least 5 acres of that tract are farmable and it just got planted on Friday. It hadn't been farmed in about 4 years and the guys who do my land were happy to add a little more. I will put it in a video here soon.

That's a great place go to! We rode the trains there quite a number of times here and there. When my son was much younger we would go to Cherry HIll location for the corn maze and other activities there, for my son to enjoy. When he was very young we rode the train pulled by Thomas The Tank Engine.

It's that time of year again and even the ads for Illinois Railroad Museum featuring Thomas the Tank Engine on two weekends are appearing on You Tube. Far and away it is their 2 biggest weekends it also can be expensive especially regarding the licensing agreements for operations and the souvenirs that are sold. Even in the gloom and rain steam does photograph better than diesels and hopefully all the youngsters and those young at heart had a good time

@@JawTooth yes the Thomas the Tank engine at Illinois Railway Museum is an actual steam locomotive and is transferred from location to its next appearance. Also since you are getting compensation from the YT Channel you may want to check with IRM regarding commercial shooting.. if the train leaves the property and goes out on their main line it can be shot from.the public Highway. Just so you don't have any unpleasant surprises

0:58 those are probably by far one of the rarest crossing signals in the US the Raco hydraulic gate Mech type signal they rear because of their unusual hydraulic system which is why they’re very impossible to maintain listen carefully and you can hear the hydraulic mechanism lifting the gates back up

Took the family there many times. The Stras RR owns a Thomas but only brings it out for licensed promotions. They store it in the engine house. Just look in the window and you'll see it 👍

Oh JT today at work I had a young man who was all into trains and he was proud like ..so I said do you know what a color position light is ..and he said hes still learning train things and was like a girls gonna tell me about trains!
