Two motorcycle enthusiasts and TV giants experienced a bit of a war of words when talk show superstar and host of Jay Leno's Garage, Jay Leno himself told Cycledrag that he thought his Orange County Chopper was poorly built and didn't stop or handle well. We got Orange County Chopper frontman Paul Teutul Sr.'s reaction to Jay Leno's comments from the new home of OCC in Florida, and what happened next is a turn in this Leno - OCC rivalry that we were not expecting. Pushed about 2 miles till a newspaper guy I knew came by and got me some gas from a local farmer at 5 in the morning . Young dumb and full of you know what . I had left the reserve lever on on . We had fun though .

I have seen other videos on KZbin from people who had OCC bikes. Many of those people said they were terrible junk. So those OCC bikes were made for TV. If they made good bikes they would still be in business!

Nice they buried the hatchet on this contrived "rivalry". Leno had a legit complaint about an issue with an obviously compromised custom bike. Leno generally prefers stock/original vehicles, not a big modder. He likely knew that a chopper would be a compromise on certain things, especially handling and braking. Fusing your ignition system through a circuit with a bulb though is just dumb and a legit gripe.

Agreed, who was the customer, JAY. He also uses his bikes and other vehicles frequently, so when Jay couldn't get a resolution by phone, and Paul/OCC handled him poorly; Jay was completely correct to say so... OCC should have gone out of their way to make him happy, because that's the job (particularly at these prices).

Paul Sr,and Jr with many other people helped make some magical moments of television, but those bikes aren't really made to jump on and ride to Sturges South Dakota from Georgia and back. Without beating the shit out of you ,and hopefully you're able to make it there and back. With that being said I dont want to ride any bike with a rake to that degree anywhere thats double digit hours away from home.

I agree, The OCC bikes are not as practical as other bike brands, they are super custom just like in the custom car world, lots of people trailer their cars into town for a car show and drive them around locally for the weekend and then they go back on the trailer. Same with these bikes, I'd ride around town all night long but wouldn't want to be on the highway for hours on end.

What rivalry? Jay has been a well known member of the petrolhead community for half a century and has seen /done it all. OCC is like dawg the bounty hunter decided to bolt fenders on his harley one day. OCC requires this dramatic attention to survive, Jay's been surviving just fine and has a lot to show for it, he's earned the right to complain about bad workmanship as a well known and respected expert in the field. It's not a rivalry, it's more like a true judgement of their abilities as mechanics. Frankly, using Jay's goodwill tour of his shop to churn up this kind of nonsense is unbecoming. You're not doing either party any favors. OCC are a bunch of washed-up hasbeens, and Jay's so far above this he may as well be in orbit. So why bother?

Here is what people who had them bikes built said look it up on the Internet. The special Choppers were only built for show a fact try and ride one for long distances. OCC make fantastic show bikes no doubt great design so much put into the looks they are a piece of art cost a lot to build and make design Amazing. But to ride them a long distance or to do shopping not the right bike at all. For one they are not off road bikes they are not sports bikes they are not cruising bikes.
