Former police chief constable Sue Sim warns against sharing "conspiracy theories" about missing teenager Jay Slater.
The search for a British teenager who went missing during a holiday in Tenerife has entered its second week.
Specialist sniffer dogs have been flown in from Madrid to join the search for Jay Slater, as authorities continue to scour for details that may shed light on his disappearance.
Jay Slater, from Oswaldtwistle, Lancashire, disappeared following an attempt to walk back to his accommodation after missing a bus.
The apprentice bricklayer, 19, had attended the NRG music festival on the island with two friends before his disappearance and was last heard from on Monday last week.
The walk from Mr Slater’s last known location, Rural de Teno Park in the north of the island, to his accommodation would have taken about 11 hours on foot.
A fundraiser set up by the last person to speak to Mr Slater hit its target of £30,000 on Sunday.
The GoFundMe created by Lucy Law to “get Jay Slater home” had received £33,000 in donations by Monday morning.
A post on the page from Mr Slater’s mother, Debbie Duncan, confirmed the fundraiser was “approved by our family”.

They literally assisted the police so much and actually found the location of Gabby's vehicle which ultimately led the police in the right direction to find her body. He was 16 when the offences happened in 2021. Seems to have been more like a street fight than a planned attack. I know it doesn't excuse the behaviour, but he was young and Tom isn't exactly a model citizen. Jay doesn't seem to have done anything bad since, and his current boss seems happy with his behaviour. These stories about him dealing at the resort have no evidence, So maybe people should give him the benefit of the doubt until the facts of this case come out, if they ever do.

Exactly. Experienced hikers know their routes and which areas to avoid. Not to mention NO ONE should venture into it without a backpack with some tools and obviously water. It gets very hot during the day and it's easy to get dehydrated. Also, no hiking after a night out drinking. Alcohol dehydrates and before you know it you will be disoriented in the mountain, which may be deadly.

the kid with machete in his head has been to jail numerous times, robbing old people, car theft resulting in 70mph cop chase, drugs, violence and more. Search tom hilton accrington, court reports/documents and media articles. Also guy with machete had surname Armstrong, Jay didn't have it. But with that being said, I'm in NO WAY condoning violence whatsoever, merely stating 2 sides to every story. I'm a mum to 19yr old & 16yr old boys, thankfully they are good boys, but even IF they were in trouble or had been , they are still my kids, and loved by me & family, so I wouldn't wish this on my worst enemy. I can't help but think we aren't being told the whole story, to be honest I'm not even believing the drug mule story completely, as anyone can type anything on social media, and IF he'd been taken by drug dealers, then witnesses wouldn't of seen him walking to try & get back.
